The last two weeks are a blur. I know I was really sick for a day, so sick that all I did was lay in bed with my eyes closed because anything else required too much effort. I know that it took me a lot longer to recover from that brutal sinus infection than I ever thought possible – because I am still recovering. I know that I lost both of the weekends to dance competitions. I feel like I could have read more than I did, but I’ll be damned if I could do much more than play Homescapes the last few weeks. I did not have the mental, physical, or emotional capacity to read more than a few pages at a time. I am improving and may be back to my normal self one of these days.

Wow! You still manage to read a ton. Hope you are feeling better. Sinus infections are brutal. I had a great reading month in April but I was totally using reading as a distraction from life and work and the blahs. Better than other vices, yes? You asked about Jill and to be honest, I haven’t heard from her in a few months – I think I got myself too many penpals this last Feb Letter-Mo and realized I haven’t heard from my ‘regulars’. Eeek! Getting back to it on a more steady basis, I hope. I have a new penpal that reminds me of you in her handwriting – rounded and so very consistent! ;P
I have been a horrible pen pal. Every dance competition, I bring cards with me thinking I am going to write between dances, and I never do. One more competition weekend though, so hopefully, I can get back to some normalcy!
Reading is a perfectly acceptable way to distract yourself from life and work and the blahs. That’s the only reason I am reading as much as I am!
I hope you’re feeling a lot better! Sinus infections are the worst. I feel like I’m fighting one now. And reading hasn’t been happening much for me lately. Too tired to concentrate. How was The Invited? I really want to read that one.
I went from a sinus infection right into spring allergies, so I, unfortunately, don’t feel all that much better. I like all of Jennifer McMahon’s novels, and her latest checked all the right boxes for me.
