Hello, my lovelies!
I don’t know about where you are right now, but it has been a glorious, sunny autumn day here. This is the time of year during which I am most grateful that my house is almost nothing but windows because they capture the gorgeous autumn light in a way that makes you thankful to be alive to experience it. Of course, I feel that way about this entire season, so maybe it is not my windows after all.
The readathon on Saturday was a lot of fun. I did not take it too seriously this time around, reading when I felt like it, playing games or working on cross-stitch when I did not. I managed to finish two books and almost 900 pages in about eight hours. I had more fun looking at everyone’s pictures on Instagram and enjoying how happy everyone was that day. No sad posts. No inspirational, “hang in there” type posts. No politics. Just a lot of blankets, coffee or tea, sleepy animals, and books. It was awesome and reminded me of how social media used to be before it went mainstream, and people became mean. I want that feeling to last all year long.
Not much new here. Work. School. Dance. Homework. Housework. Rinse. Repeat.
Speaking of housework, I have a load of laundry calling my name and a request to start dinner.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and I wish you a stress-free and speedy work week!

- Happy Readathon!

My house is the same way. The entire back wall is mostly windows and I am situation in such a way that I can have all the windows open and no one can see inside. It’s very private and when it’s this time of the year, it’s nice to open it all up. Except, it’s 90 degrees. The nights are cool but the days are wicked hot for this time of year. I have not seen one scary movie!! Haven’t had the time and the vibe is late hitting me. Tonight the kids are carving and watching Charlie Brown, I have life group but tomorrow I am handing out candy and parking myself in front of the TV for a movie marathon. As much as a marathon one can have getting home by 5pm and going to bed at 10pm.
I love my wall of windows, even if most of them do not open up to allow for fresh air. The only bad thing is I cannot hide the state of my windows or of my house when the sun is shining.
We went from burning hot and summery to freezing and wintery, with tons of rain to boot. There’s some possibility that we might have sunny, autumn-temp days next week (please??) and I’m so looking forward to at least a week of that glorious weather!
I hope you get it!
I’m glad you had fun on Saturday. I wanted to join in, but my schedule just wouldn’t allow it this time. Hopefully next time! It seemed like everyone participating was having a great time.
Have a good week!
I didn’t even have to look at my calendar to know that the next readathon is completely out for me. I will be sitting in a theater for that weekend.
