We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- NOTHING – This is it. The last free weekend on the calendar until May. After this, we have four dance competitions in a row. Which means I plan to do nothing this weekend. Jim has this idea of repainting our family room, which I am going to fight with all of my power (I may concede during the basketball games because I can watch and paint at the same time). There is a plan to visit my father in the hospital after his surgery today, but that’s it. Sleep, rest, relaxation – that is all that I want to accomplish this weekend. After all, it is going to be a LONG month with no downtime.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

How is your dad doing?
I had a slow weekend myself. I realized with more blood work that my body is really messed up and it did exactly what you would expect it to do when pushed to the limit… it gave out. I did very little. I still feel exhausted though.
My dad was released from the hospital this morning. It was a day later than planned, but he looked good on Saturday.
That is how I have been feeling lately. I tried to do very little this weekend but still have no energy to just maintain the house. When do you receive your test results from all the blood work?
I hope you were able to enjoy your downtime this past weekend!!
I enjoyed it as much as I was able! I could definitely use another day or two though, as I spend most of my free days just recovering. By the time I feel better and have energy to get stuff done around the house, it is time to go back to work and start the cycle all over again.
Hoping you got your sleep, rest, and relaxation this weekend. Here was fairly quiet, watching more Britbox tonight: A Touch of Frost.
It was a good weekend. Lazy mornings are the best!
Man! I remember you saying that you had no free weekends for like six weeks just recently…enjoy this one, because your season sounds crazy!
It has been a particularly crazy season, but we did it to ourselves as Holly wanted to compete her solo as many times as possible. Then, there just happens to be an Irish competition that her coach added in April, which took away the remaining free weekend. We will actually be home for the next two competition weekends because they all occur within a 15-mile radius of our house, so that is a big bonus. We just don’t get the pleasure of doing nothing or lounging about the house all day.
An extremely rare free weekend. Hope it’s a good one for you. You need it. Hope all goes well with your Dad’s surgery.
Thanks, Jill! It was a pretty decent weekend. Being able to stay home and not have to rush to the theater or rush back to a hotel to get to bed as quickly as possible was such a relief!
