We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- BLOG ANNIVERSARY – On January 25, 2009, I posted my first post to this website. I never make a big deal out of this date because I usually never remember. Still, it is unfathomable to me that this hobby of mine is still going strong all these years later. Crazy.
- SOMEONE HAS A NEW JOB – Jim accepted a job offer yesterday, and he will start with the company after he returns from Australia. This job will require a lot of travel on his part, but we have done it before and we can do it again. I am excited for him and know that this is a great opportunity on his part.
- PUPPY LOVE – Because we might be crazy, Jim thought that what the family needed to celebrate his new job and recover from the last few months of uncertainty with a new puppy! We have been batting around the idea of getting a new dog since Gretchen passed away two summers ago but have never been ready to pull the trigger for one reason or another. Apparently, Jim was finally ready and after much deliberation, he opted to rescue. So yesterday, he went and picked up a seven-week-old pit bull pup that he named Cletus*. Everybody say hi!

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?
*(About the name, my thinking when I named Tallulah was that I wanted a country name to go with a country dog and I REALLY wanted a pair so that I could use the name Cletus for the same reason. Jim felt that pit bulls were country dogs too and borrowed my name. So now I have my two country dogs and their country names.)

Congratulations all the way around!! And Cletus is adorable!!
Thank you!
Awesome news all around! Your new puppy is adorable.
Thanks, Amanda!
Congratulations, Jim, on the new job!! That’s great news!
Very adorable puppy and love the names you picked for both your dogs. My husband wants a dog so bad, but I just can’t do it. With the small house and zero backyard and him being gone every weekend from March to October…I just can’t.
Happy blog anniversary!! You know I love you and your blog, and I’m glad you keep sharing with us.
I know what you mean about getting a dog. Getting such a young pup was not what I wanted, but having introduced Tallulah to older rescue dogs we could see it wasn’t going to work. So, puppy it is! He’s actually pretty good so far. Try me though right before Jim gets back. I may have a dog to give away by then.
Congrats to Jim on the new job! Congrats to you on your blog anniversary! And Cletus is precious! We have a granddog that is a very sweet energetic mostly pit bull named Cody. Our other granddog is older, but also a pit bull/retriever mix and he’s named Hops. Our daughter and son-in-law love those pups so much! Have a good week!
Thanks, Kay! He’s a sweetie but a handful as all puppies are.
