Not a bad week thanks to audiobooks. I still find myself working on craft projects rather than reading in the evenings, and I have made peace with that. It is what I need to do right now in order to maintain my sanity in this insane world into which we have been plunged.
FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
The Callie Bates novel was a fun fantasy of power struggles and belief and nature. Entertaining and engrossing, I stayed up past my bedtime a few nights in a row reading and even sneaked in some reading time at work to finish it.
Jennifer Wright’s book about plagues was amazing. So amazing that I now want to read anything she might have published. It was funny and informative and scary and just about perfect for nonfiction.
Lauren DeStefano’s latest series starts out slowly and improves as it progresses. I was worried that the story was too predictable, so I was pleasantly surprised when the story went into directions I did not expect. I still worry that the series will end like I suspect it will, but this first book in the series proved my guesses incorrect.
DID NOT FINISH:
A good week.

My copy of Sleeping Beauties comes this week. I’m dying to read it. I hope it’s good!
Enjoy!
Your current reads are very Halloween-y! At least based on the covers!
They are, aren’t they? The King novel definitely. The Phillips novel is a different type of horror, but I am thoroughly enjoying it.
