We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- BRIDAL SHOWER – One of my closest friends is getting married in November, so of course it is time for all of the pre-wedding fun. Tomorrow is her bridal shower, for which I am in charge of the decorations. This sort of thing always makes me nervous, as I am never sure if my skills will match my vision. Still, I know it will be fun no matter what!
- READATHON – Between the bridal shower and an unexpected visit from my brother-in-law all the way from Pittsburgh, tomorrow’s readathon is more than likely a no-go for me. That doesn’t mean I don’t plan on having my own mini-readathon at some point in time over the weekend. It is the only weekend this month where Holly and I are not traveling, and I want to make sure that I take full advantage of that.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

We had plans all weekend so the Readathon was a no-go for me, too. I’ve got to find some other day to basically take a day out for reading!
I hope the bridal shower went well and was lots of fun!
I totally get that. I probably was not the friendliest of hosts to my brother-in-law on Saturday, but by the end of the shower I had reached the point where socializing was the last thing I was capable of doing. Taking that time to read – with just the dog to keep me company – was exactly what I needed. In fact, I probably could use another day of no human interaction before we have to travel again even though I know it won’t happen. This introvert is getting exhausted!
I was lucky and did not have to work on Thursday and Friday. It’s been just what I needed these days, and now today, I am being so lazy, reading and relaxing as much as I can. I love the readathon weekend!
Oh, that does sound lovely. I know I could use a day off from work where I do nothing, but I fear it is not in the cards for me any time soon. I hope you had a blast during the readathon!
Have fun at the shower. Glad you have a week off from the travel.
Thanks!
The lead-up to Friday is always good, isn’t it? Today is fabulous because I am leaving work early to get shots in my neck. This will probably be my last cortisone shot because you can’t have too many without causing more damage.
Tonight, we may hit Fright Fest unannounced to see our son do his thing. I am soooo exhausted but Saturdays are “at capacity” days and you know how I am with crowds.
The Girl was asked to join a volleyball league team, coached by next year’s JV coach so we all feel like she has to do it but I told her if she does she needs to give stuff up and she is pointing to high school theatre (which is not going well at all with this uncredentialed teacher) and community theatre.. yep. Music Man could be her last show.
Yay for leaving early! I have plans to sneak out of here about an hour earlier than normal too. My philosophy is that I put in more than enough time during the week to hang around until 5 PM on Friday.
Seeing Evan in his element will be fun and worth sticking it out past your bedtime, especially since he won’t know you are coming. You should see whether you can surprise him before he surprises you!
Wow. I never thought the Girl would contemplate choosing volleyball over theater. That is HUGE! I’m sure there will be more to come on this, so you will have to keep me posted.
