We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- HOMECOMING – Connor is not coming home, but that is not stopping us from attending the homecoming game for the high school tonight. We haven’t been to a single game all year and feel like we should make an appearance for the biggest game of the year. It will be weird knowing Connor is not in the band.
- RELAX AND UNPLUG – This week was brutal. The headlines alone made me want to crawl into bed and hide – more hurricanes, more acts of police violence, more lies by our government, having to fight to block the repeal of the ACA yet again. Work has been tough with some crises that are affecting all positions. Holly did not make it on to the student council leadership because none of the boys voted for a girl. Jim has been sick with the flu. Holly has been fighting off a cold. I am more than ready for some time to escape and recover because who knows what next week will bring.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Ah man, sounds like a rough week. I hope you were able to rest and relax this weekend. And that everyone is feeling better. I’m taking a personal day today – the cold/flu thing is getting passed around in our house right now.
I’m sorry to hear Holly didn’t make SC. It’s so flippin sad that gender equality is STILL an issue today. Ugh.
I got my flu vaccine this morning, so I hope that means I am protected. I have a feeling Jim is going to be sick a lot this winter since he got his one bout of flu so early, especially as he thinks this now means he doesn’t need the vaccine. We shall see.
Still an issue and it starts EARLY. I think that is what surprised me the most.
Yikes! What a week. I hope the weekend has gone much, much better for you and that everyone is healthy soon.
Thanks, Amanda!
You’re 100% right. This week was rough. Our homecoming game is tonight but they do it weird here. We are not playing our cross town rival tonight but some other school so I am going to see IT with my friend instead!
The news is very upsetting. I almost can’t watch it anymore. The earthquake, the DOTARD, Kim Jong-Un sounding more sane than our President. Nope.
I am so over all of it. I just want to sit, read, drink coffee and nap. Is that too much to ask for? Okay, maybe some wine too.
We don’t really have a rival, so the homecoming game is always a team in the conference but a different one every year. I want to go to the game, but after this week I sort of just want to stay at home with a glass of wine.
I am feeling the exact same way. It is too much. Just too much.
Wine. Lots of wine. Agreed. Already started.
I ended up going to the football game. There will be wine later this weekend though.
Have fun at the game and hope you have a quiet restful weekend. I plan to spend all day tomorrow watching football and reading.
Thanks! It will be a football-watching, reading weekend here too!
