We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- I SURVIVED ONE WEEK WITHOUT CONNOR – First of all, Connor has been away from the house PLENTY of times over seventeen years. He has been on trips to grandparents, school trips, and various academic opportunities that had him travel without us. Within the last few years, he has spent many a night at friends’ houses too. This week has been different though. It is the knowledge that he is not coming back that threw me for a loop. I haven’t been crying, but I am definitely struggling to accept this new way of life. The house is so quiet, and food stays in the fridge and pantry for longer than a day. I am sure we all will adjust, me included, but right now, I am just happy I made it through this first week without him.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Aww, I hope you’re being extra kind to yourself. Hang in there! You can make it without Connor!
Thanks, Jenny! I am trying to take it easy and do things that make me happy. It seems to be working.
It is that knowledge that life is forever changed that makes it hard. But he’s not so far that you can’t get back and forth to see him, at least. Good job on surviving that first week without tears, Mom!
Thanks, Lisa! After talking to him briefly on Sunday night, he sounds so happy that I can no longer be sad. This is where he belongs, and I am so excited to see what the future holds for him.
I have faith you will make it, and congratulations on surviving your first week.
Here, Friday is fabulous because I actually finished a book. And liked it. Woooo!!!
Yay!
Thanksgiving and Christmas will be extra special when he returns home.
I am not feeling so fabulous yet. I have a few more minutes of work and then a 1.5 hour volleyball team meeting. I am so tired. I hope I can stay awake.
I hope you had a wonderful Friday evening and have a relaxing weekend planned!
I’m betting your food purchasing will undergo a major change in the next few weeks. Just one of many adjustments.
That I am looking forward to. That and food lasting longer than a day from when I bring it home.
I can’t even imagine how you’re feeling. I know I’ll be there some day, and it makes me emotional just thinking about it. I’m glad you survived the week!! And I hope you enjoy your weekend.
Thanks, Brandie! It’s been an odd week, and the news has not been helping my emotional state. I am looking forward to the weekend and just focusing on learning my new family norm.
