We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- Nothing – Unlike the majority of the nation, I personally do not have a long weekend. Someone in my company screwed up and made Monday a regular work day, even though we have off on Tuesday for the Fourth of July. Go figure. So, because I only get a normal weekend and am bitter about it, I plan to do nothing this weekend. (I would say I am doing nothing on Monday but it’s the first day of month-end close, so that is just not possible. And yes, I AM bitter about not having a two-day holiday next week.)

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Same here!! I was going to take the day off but the other two in my dept put it on the calendar so they are off but I am not. I don’t care really because I didn’t have any plans. NO ONE will be here on Monday so I made lunch plans with a friend from way back and will just hang out. Hopefully a major system does not fail that day.
I am moving into a temp cube so they can make my space bigger. I claimed every square inch allotted to me under my job classification so my cube wall gets moved three feet over and I get new furniture and panels because the old stuff won’t work with the new size. I try to lay low but I have 20 years on my co-worker and she got the bigger space. Uh, nope.
We aren’t running production on Monday, so it sounds like a lot of office people are coming in to get caught up on things they normally can’t touch. I have a feeling I will have more company than I expected on Monday. I hope it is as quiet as I thought it was going to be.
Good. Claim everything you can. New furniture and panels are exciting, as is a much bigger space. Those three feet are going to make a world of difference! When does everything arrive?
We didn’t get Monday off off either, but I took off Monday… That said, I hope you enjoy your two days of nothing, and your Fourth.
With it being month-end, there is no way I could take off Monday. From the chatter around the office, I won’t be the only one here on Monday. There are quite a few of us who will be looking forward to the peace and quiet.
I’m sorry, that is awful!! I hope you at least enjoy two days of nothing or doing whatever it is you want to do.
That’s the plan!
