We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

Coming to you this week from Ames, Iowa!
- Freshman Orientation – Jim and I have been impressed with Iowa State University from the first time the boys visited it. Since then, we continue to marvel at how well they organize things and their open communication with students and parents. What we like even better is how they scheduled freshman orientation early in the summer, so we can get it over with and enjoy the rest of the time we have together. After we leave today, Connor should have a better idea of what classes he will be taking, and we will know what his room will look like, he will have his student id, and a whole bunch of other things that neither Jim nor I had when we started college. Exciting and scary times for all of us!

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Oh how fun! And so nice to get that out of the way. Enjoy Iowa!
Exactly! I love that it is over and done with and no thinking about school until August.
Oh, I love how they do things. I remember college and the whole first week of getting things organised. Wish they had done it early like that!
It was great! He left with his class schedule, with his books pre-ordered, having met with his advisor already. You couldn’t ask for a better introduction to college.
How exciting!! It is really cool that they do the orientation in June. That takes a lot of the stress off when he goes in the fall, I’m sure. I hope it was a great trip. Have a good weekend!
I just like that it is done and we can enjoy the rest of our summer. No having to think about school until August, as it should be.
