We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

I would say I want a do-over for this week, but I would much rather put it behind me and celebrate the weekend.
- Mother’s Day – My birthday ended up being somewhat of a disaster, so I am hoping my family can pull out a win for Mother’s Day. After all, mothers make the world go round. If anyone deserves a special day, it is anyone who has experienced pregnancy. So shout out to all mothers everywhere! You rock! (Also, don’t forget those mothers who have lost their child/children. I can only imagine who difficult a day like Mother’s Day is. They deserve special consideration for having suffered the unimaginable.)
- Relaxing – Jim is back from Germany. Prom is over. While I have way too much to do, I am hoping my family will help me out and let me spend some quality time on the hammock this weekend. We pulled it out of storage weeks ago, and I have yet to have used it. The weather is supposed to be gorgeous, and I think it is finally time we become reacquainted.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Ack. I’m sorry to hear about your birthday, and I really hope Mother’s Day was much better for you!
It was okay. My family left me alone the entire day. Seriously didn’t see anyone for most of it. I took the weekend off from life and did nothing but watch TV, lay around the house, read a small bit, and work on some cross-stitch projects. Other than being somewhat lonely, it was a wonderful weekend.
Hammock time sounds glorious. I wanted a hammock once but I am kind of clumsy. I would probably fall out and shatter something. I REALLY hope you can relax, read, swing in the breeze, fall asleep on the couch to the TV on in the background (the best kind of sleep) and if you drink, a Moscow Mule sounds pretty good. Or a Pimm’s Cup! I had one summer where that was my summer drink. It has like hardly anything in it but I felt like it did.
Oh, there was a fall. I didn’t shatter anything but I did bruise the right side of my body pretty badly. I still can’t raise my arm very high. I have a new hammock on order, one that should have more give that will prevent falling over and out. Thankfully, I fell over using last year’s hammock, which my husband strung too tight. There was NO give, and trying to balance was impossible. Connor tried it and fell off too, so I feel vindicated in my clumsiness. I actually did buy a new one this year, but it is a bit too much of a cocoon. I can see it being perfect for fall, but it will be pretty miserable for warmer weather. The one on order should be a good mix of the old and new. I hope.
Once I did get into my cocoon, I was pretty darn cozy. I even managed to fall asleep for a few minutes. No drinking. I didn’t even think of that. Actually, my family decided that Mother’s Day meant spending the weekend alone, so there was no one around to bring me anything and I was not moving once I was finally situated. Maybe next weekend!
Happy Mother’s Day! Was your son able to get you some prom pics I hope?
Thanks, Amanda! Not yet. I am still waiting. I keep reminding him every day, so hopefully he will get tired of my reminders and do something about it. 😉
I hope you get some much needed time to relax and enjoy that hammock! You deserve it, my friend! Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Thanks, Brandie! Operation Hammock was a success! I even took a short nap while laying there. It was bliss.
I hope you had a great weekend!
