FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
Hannah Tinti and Jessica Shattuck have both written two amazing books that are going to go down as two of my favorite books for the year. Rosalyn Eves’ historical fiction fantasy was not quite as good.
CURRENT READ:
I figure this would be pertinent to trying to understand our current administration. We shall see.
CURRENT LISTEN:
What an absolute clusterf*ck this was. I can’t help but think that some of the mistakes they made were common sense, but then again, I can’t imagine being in that situation.
UP NEXT:
I was meh about the first book, but Holly LOVED it. I wanted to give the sequel a chance because I am perverse like that.
So, what are you reading?

So glad you liked the Women in the Castle! thx for the review of it, I hope to get to it this spring or summer. Currently I’m reading Exit West.
I’ve heard great things about Exit West; I hope you enjoyed it!
I’m really curious about the Tinti book. I’ve been seeing a lot of praise for it lately. Probably need to pick up a copy!
It’s amazing!!
Good description of Five Days 🙂 But, I definitely wondered how the extreme situation and “fog of war” mentality for people who aren’t at all trained to go to war (in a military sense) could go South super quick. Lots to simmer on there.
Definitely. I am only halfway still, and I can’t imagine the story getting any worse. I am almost afraid to keep listening at this point. I also keep wondering if we as a society have learned any lessons at all by Katrina, or if we are doomed to repeat the story some day.
