We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- Hamilton– After months of waiting, Jim, Holly, and I are finally going to see “Hamilton” in Chicago on Saturday. I have been counting down to this weekend.
- Switching Gears– Because there is no such thing as rest in the dance world, Holly and I now switch our focus to the ballet show. This weekend is the first run-through of the show to make sure we have the dance order down and have no issues with stage entrances and exits. We have four hours scheduled on Sunday but are hoping that it ends earlier. I am in charge of the props for the show this year, so I’ll be focusing on pauses and timing to get props on and off the stage. Fun times!

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Have a fabulous time at the show!! And I hope all goes well on Sunday.
Thanks, Brandie! The show was wonderful, and I survived Sunday. That’s about all I can ask for at this point in time.
I am always a prop master backstage when I work it. It can be a very exciting job. Especially when the kid has no idea that they even have a prop! I’ve crawled through scaffolding to hand things to Dorothy (Oz), I ripped my own pants trying to get a hat to Benjamin for Benjamin’s Calypso in Joseph. FUN!!
Hamilton!! It’s coming to Los Angeles and I believe the tickets went on sale this morning but it’s too rich for my blood. I wouldn’t mind spending it but the situation with my sister makes me think twice.
I always love doing props backstage, but this year, I am in charge of making them too. We at least are renting a backdrop, but everything else is totally stressing me out. I have way too much to do before the show and a rapidly diminishing amount of time in which to do them. (Can you feel my panic?)
I do hope you can get to see Hamilton at some point in time. I ended up purchasing tickets at the cheaper end of the spectrum, resulting in seats that were a bit farther from the stage than I would have liked. However, it in no way reduced how much I enjoyed seeing it in person. It is truly a breathtaking show.
I’m excited for you to see Hamilton (not without a touch of jealousy of course).
Good luck Sunday – hope it goes well.
I survived the weekend! Granted, my to-do list is even longer now, which means my anxiety levels are spiking even higher. Gah!
Awww, enjoy the show!!! I have to admit the Hamilton craze is not something I ever even dipped my toes into, but I so loved witnessing everyone’s enthusiasm and joy!
It is a fantastic story in its own right, but the music is something else. The show was amazing, and the singers moved me to tears multiple times. Even if it might not be something you think you will enjoy, I say you should check it out. You might be pleasantly surprised!
