Hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. To learn more about each book, just click on the book cover!
Band concerts during the week combined with dance during the weekend made it impossible to find time to read yet again this week. I knew this was going to happen, but it still doesn’t make me happy. What makes it worse is that everything I was reading were heart pounders that I did not want to set aside for the real world!
CURRENT READ:
The Hannah Tinti novel is an electronic copy. The Shattuck novel is a printed one. With dance and sharing a room with Holly, my opportunities to stay up late reading a print book are few and far between, so I have been double-dipping in my reading to accommodate my environment.
CURRENT LISTEN:
This is like a tragedy of errors – the proverbial semi crashing into oncoming traffic that you know is going to be horrible but cannot help but watch.
UP NEXT:
Another electronic versus print version. I cannot wait to get to both of them.
So, what are you reading?

I loved the Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley…one of my favorite so far this year. I’m very curious about The Women in the Castle, so will look forward to hearing your thoughts.
I did too. It is actually quite beautiful in spite of all the violence, isn’t it? I will definitely be purchasing a finished copy so that I can share it with my husband.
Are you enjoying the Hannah Tinti book? My friend is very VERY excited to read that one, so I’m hoping it’s amazing. Meanwhile it’s Monday and I abandoned my fiction read and am now dedicating myself altogether to the nonfiction book about race in fantasy stories that I must read very quickly as it is checked out to me on interlibrary loan.
I LOVED it! So, so good. I hope you friend loves it just as much as I did!
Good luck on finishing your book in time!
I heard The Women in the Castle is good. I’m on a wait list for it at the library. One more WWII story, eh? But I probably can’t pass it up. Enjoy your books.
So far, it is amazing. I have only been able to read it in snippets though, so we shall see if it holds up under longer reading scrutiny.
Hmm, I am curious about Blood Rose Rebellion. Need to check that out.
3 books finished is still awesome with the little time you’ve had lately! I hope you enjoy your books this week!
Thanks, Brandie! It helped that they were all excellent stories. Have a great week!
Ooooh – Five Days at Memorial is SO good. You’re right about the tragedy of errors.
I’m also in the middle of Samuel Hawley. Like it fine at this point, but it isn’t blowing me away.
I finished the Hannah Tinti book yesterday. I really liked it. Talk about your morally ambiguous characters! I hope to make more headway on the Memorial audiobook. I am thoroughly enjoying what I have heard so far.
I am reading nothing. Maybe in April I will find my reading mojo. I go to bed at night and plan to read but then can’t seem to settle in with anything. It’s depressing. 🙁
Don’t sweat it! We still love you no matter if you are reading anything or not!
