We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.

- One more to go– We are on weekend three of this month of dance competitions. Tonight, Holly and I are heading north of Madison for another one, complete with hotel stay and early morning wake-up to get her ready for competing. These weekends are fun, but they are complete assaults on all five of your senses. After a few hours, you are as tired and sore as if you had run a marathon. The last two weekends were made even worse by the theater not having switched over to air conditioning yet. Plus, the team is still working through the plague, and I live in fear that our luck will run out one of these weeks. This isn’t the last competition of the season; we have one more next weekend here in town and one at the end of April. But I am ready for the break and some time at home. I miss my weekends.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

I saw where the team won 2nd and 3rd – that’s awesome! I’m heading to my second overnight competition this Friday in Columbus. Sunnie will dance on Saturday morning. Then we have one more in May.
I hear ya about the assault on the senses. It’s loud and draining! I hope you get to enjoy a break soon.
Oh, they won more than that! Her two dances placed second and third. We had lots of first places too among the rest of the dances. It’s been a very successful season.
Holly has an Irish competition next Saturday and then one more overnight team competition in April. Thankfully, the end is near.
Hope you still are having/did have fun this weekend despite the assault. It sounds like a busy time, but I’m sure rewarding to see your daughter in competition. Here, a rare Saturday off yesterday as I’ve been working a couple of Saturdays a month instead of my normal one and today, NASCAR with the neighbors.
It is fun and always worthwhile to watch her dance and do the one thing she loves doing more than anything else. While I am tired and cranky and think longingly of my bed, I wouldn’t trade these weekends for anything.
