We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
It has been a long and emotionally brutal week. But it’s Friday, ya’ll! We made it!
- Travel Weekend – The dance season officially begins this weekend! Actually, Holly’s team is not competing, but they are taking intensive classes on Saturday and Sunday. Meanwhile, this gal is going to be enjoying the peace and quiet of her hotel room, reading and sleeping because I can. Dance weekends are not usually this stress-free, and I plan to take advantage of it!
- Pain-free month-end – I know most people do not understand what I do for a living, and that is perfectly okay. There are days I don’t know what I do for a living. Yet, each month I get the pleasure of this little thing called “month-end close.” The closest I can compare it to is balancing your checkbook and the checkbooks of your entire extended family, and they all have to balance to the penny. It is never fun and always involves long hours. Last month was made even worse because of unexpected delays that were not even my fault. This month is first time in a very long time where I was able to finish everything on time and without having to work 11+ hours or skip lunch. It makes for a very quiet and wonderful Friday indeed.
What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?
Sounds like you’ve earned your weekend. Enjoy…Tomorrow, winter is returning here with its cold, so I’m looking forward to staying in and reading (and napping, who am I kidding?).
Ha! Thanks, Bryan!
Way to go on the month-end. Our finance person sits two doors over from me and all I hear sometimes are incoherent rants and sometimes Chinese. It’s not a fave with her either.
So you get a nice little hotel getaway this weekend. Very nice. Make the most of it. You must get takeout and watch girl flicks.
I’ll clue you in on what my son interviewed for when I have the final result. I don’t want to jinx anything. It may be a little while until he knows.
Thanks, Ti! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for your son!
Having worked in Accounting and Finance for almost 20 years, I totally understand your pain. Although I’m not an accountant, most of my friends are and I witnessed many a rough month end and year end. I’m glad you had a smooth one this month!
Here’s to the start of dance weekends! Enjoy your peace and quiet time. I won’t get any peace and quiet, but while the girls are playing, I will be drinking and enjoying time with my girlfriends. I’m looking forward to it. Enjoy!! And once I find out which competition we’re at, I’ll let you know the name.
Oh you are going to have a fun weekend!
Glad that month-end was painless. Enjoy your weekend!
