Happy Sunday! I don’t know about where you live, but it was absolutely gorgeous this weekend with sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s. This is not normal February weather, so we all took advantage of it. Windows were opened, and we all found reasons to stay outside as much as possible. The weather is supposed to stay like this for most of the week too. Knowing that the temperatures are supposed to go back to normal in another week, I have not decided if this flirt with spring is cruel or a much-needed respite from the gloom of winter.
It was a quiet week for us. School, work, dance, newspaper, jazz band, et al. Same old, same old. I am not complaining because it was wonderful having quiet evenings, not working late, and enjoying being home without having to rush. The next two weekends are going to be a bit crazy, which means the weeknights will also be busy catching up on all the stuff that should have been done over the weekends. The calm before the storm makes it much easier to weather that storm. I hope it lasts into this week too.
Here are past posts from the last week in case you missed them the first time:
- It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? – 13 February 2017
- Universal Harvester is the Midwest in all its weird glory
- The Shimmering Road shimmers but does not shine
- The very buzzworthy Lincoln in the Bardo
- Fabulous Friday – 17 February 2017
Have a great day, everyone! I wish you all a fantastic week and will see you back here next Sunday!

Quiet weeks are so nice!
Yes, they are. I think it is only because they are so rare though. I don’t know if we will feel this way when we are empty-nesters!
It got up to the 50s here, which is a lovely prelude to my soon-trip to SA!
Jim got out the motorcycle. Connor was washing his car. It was just an amazing weekend. I saw that tomorrow they are predicting highs close to 70 degrees! I love it and hate what it represents at the same time. When do you leave?
Tomorrow, actually. I’ll be getting back on the 7th or 8th, can’t remember which, so it’ll be a nice little break. It won’t get above mid-50s in this area but hey, it’s raining today so most of the snow is gone. Then starting this weekend it’s supposed to snow every day for a week. I’m glad I’ll miss that! 😀
Enjoy and safe travels!
