We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- WEATHER – Don’t get me wrong. This weather scares the shit out of me. It is so wrong for this time of year and the biggest proof of global warming I have seen to date. We should have snow or at least be below freezing. We should be wearing heavy sweaters and coats. Instead, there are still leaves on the trees. My geranium still has blooms. I am still wearing flip flops at home. It is 60 degrees today. Bizarre and yet wonderful.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?
I wore flip flops off today to meet a friend for lunch. To be honest, it really wasn’t quite warm enough for them, but I’m going down fighting on that score. I finally just brought in my giant pot of geraniums because it is still so beautiful. Wish I could keep it alive all winter!
We have had a few nights of frost, so I think my geraniums finally gave up the ghost. They were nice while they lasted! I haven’t done flip-flops recently, but I have done open-toed shoes. That will probably continue for a few more weeks yet. Still, it is the middle of November. We usually see one or two snow flurries by now.
I think today was the first day it’s been turning cold. It was pretty windy here today and cold. Winter is definitely coming. BUT on the plus side, I have some days off coming here toward the end of the month: a three-day weekend next weekend and then three days off during Thanksgiving Week (when our 20th wedding anniversary is too). I’m writing up my Fabulous Friday post now and will be posting shortly. If I didn’t mention before, you might not see me on Twitter much. I’m visiting Instagram, but staying off Facebook on my phone at least, which means most of the time. I just can’t take the negativity right now.
I completely understand, Bryan. The constant rehashing of all of the election results, “proof” that things are already getting bad, just the incessant repetition of negativity is really getting to me too.
Enjoy your three day weekends and escapes into fiction. I think we all need a little more of that right now!
This weather has been crazy! I love not having the heat on yet. We’re having my daughter’s bday party for her closest friends at American Girl this weekend. I think its going to be pretty amazing. I need happy little faces after this week.
Oh, that is going to be so much fun! I always wanted to do that for my daughter. By the time the Chicago store opened up and we moved close enough to it for it to be a possibility, she was too old. Have fun!!
It is chilly here but probably still not as cold as it should be by now. There have been some warm days!
The temperatures have dipped a bit, but we still have not had a hard frost. I did not wear a coat to work this morning either. So weird.
It is so bizarre, but I’m not complaining! I’m glad my heat isn’t running all the time, yet. It has been beautiful out – I’m trying to soak it up!
