Hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. To learn more about each book, just click on the book cover!
FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
COULD NOT FINISH:
I love a good fantasy novel, but I want to be able to visualize the fantasy world of the story. Ms. Itäranta’s latest novel and the world in which the story takes place was so difficult to understand that I found myself dreading picking up the book. Even after the first quarter of the novel, I did not have a good grasp of the differences and similarities, the rules, the socio-economic layers, or even the characters in general. By the time she introduced an unknown spider-like monster, I was pretty much done giving it a chance.

I’m not reading anything. Not even an audiobook. And so far, it’s not really bothering me. ?
Hmmm…it sounds like you need a break! Or a fun trashy novel to cleanse your palate of all those serious ones you have been reading lately. 😉
That cover for Scythe is kind of fabulous! Happy readathon!
It is pretty awesome. And so far, the story is just as fabulous!
Currently reading “Into the Forest” by Jean Hegland with mixed feelings.
Ugh. I hope the book gets better for you soon!
I bought Yesternight last week. I hope it’s good and you like it!
I’m going to sign up for the readathon today, I think. I haven’t participated in awhile, but I have nothing planned this weekend and think it would be fun.
Yay! Sign up! It is always fun!
I started it last night and am already about 1/3 of the way through. Enjoyable and an easy read so far. Exactly what I need right now.
Hope the readathon helps you get back in your groove!
Thanks, Kelly! Me too!
Hope you have a good Readathon!
Thanks, Sarah!
