FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
DID NOT FINISH:
Ms. McGee’s debut novel seems to have all of the right elements that would normally have me salivating to finish it. However, I find myself just plain bored. Poor little rich kids who appear to have everything but in spite of having more money than anyone can spend in a lifetime, they still have problems. The world of the Tower is not well-explained, as she covers neither the whys nor hows of the Tower’s existence. At the halfway point, I did not care about any of the characters, and the relative lack of a plot began to bore me. I have way too many other books to read to want to continue with this one.

Oooooh, so interested to hear about what you think of We Are Unprepared. I was so intrigued when I saw it in the BEA Buzz sampler from NetGalley and was super pumped to get a copy there.
It was interesting but another one of those books where you think it is about one thing and ends up being about something completely different. Less action/adventure and more character growth. I think that is going to turn off a lot of people.
I hear ya on the overwhelmingness of Sept…especially 9/6!
No kidding! I wish publishers would spread out their offerings a bit more. It makes no sense to release so many books on the day after summer unofficially ends!
I’m currently reading The Unseen World by Liz Moore and hope to read I Will Send Rain soon, too!
How is it? I have been eyeballing it but wasn’t ready to dive into yet another suspense story.
You’re always reading interesting and different (to me) types of books. I’m finding myself really bored with my norm lately, and craving different. I just finished a book that was pretty different, and really enjoyed it. Next I’m going to try the new Blake Crouch!
I try! It helps that I am completely incapable of sticking with one genre. I just find life, and therefore a wide variety of books, way too interesting!
Good luck with Dark Matters! Quantum physics and kick-ass action/adventure FTW!
Looks like a lot of good stuff! Hope the reading continues!
Thanks, Kelly!
