We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- HOLLY’S FIRST FEIS – Later today, Jim, Holly, and I hit the road to arrive in Dayton. Tomorrow morning, Holly will compete in her first Irish dance competition, more properly called a feis (pronounced “fesch”). I think I am more nervous than she is, but I always enjoy watching her dance. I know she is excited. Again, she loves any opportunity to dance. Plus, she is looking forward to hitting up a Skyline Chili before we leave the area again.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Hope it all goes well!!
Thanks, Kelly! It most definitely did!
You should see my daughter’s attempt at that type of dancing. It’s something to see.
Tomorrow we are going to the Ventura County Fair which is right by the ocean. The Teen can’t come because he is working but he said he doesn’t want to go anyway… whatev. I like the LA County Fair and the Orange County fair but they are way hot and they don’t have animals anymore. Last year I nearly died in 110 degree heat and smelled like fried meat all day.
That disco concert in the park that was cancelled due to the fire last month has been rescheduled for tonight but it will be difficult to get a good spot since we aren’t home to grab one. I love it though. Watching all the 40 something dads wear these huge Afro wigs while trying to dance while mildly intoxicated. GREAT fun.
School started for The Girl. So far, okay but it’s only been two days.
Most people who “attempt” to dance in the Irish fashion end making us burst into tears with laughter. It is not as easy at it may look, but I love that so many people at least know what it is and try it. You can’t say the same about tap or ballet or jazz.
The county fair sounds fun! I haven’t been to a fair in ages. They usually aren’t my thing, unless I can eat my way through it.
The disco concert sounds like something I would totally enjoy. I would be one to dance, or try to, without being mildly intoxicated!
Keep me posted on how school is going for The Girl! Holly starts her “making the move” transition this week. I hope it helps the nerves rather than increases them.
