We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- PROTECTIVE BANKS – Imagine my surprise on Tuesday morning when I come back to my desk after a 7:30 AM meeting and find a text message and a phone call from my bank asking about various transactions. Imagine my shock when I open up my bank account and see that someone has essentially spent Jim’s and my entire paycheck over the course of a weekend. Now imagine my anger at the fact that both of us have our debit and credit cards still in our wallets. Damn skimmers. What could have been a very ugly process was made absolutely painless because of my bank. Not only did they have the foresight to question the extra spending even though all of it occurred in our hometown and at stores we frequent, but they extended interest-free credit for those unauthorized transactions. Moreover, they did so without me having to ask about it. This is not the first time we have flirted with identity theft, but in all cases, my bank has been extremely helpful in covering our balance while the account is under review. I love the fact that they have software that tracks spending habits and knows when something is out of the ordinary, and I love that they do not hesitate to contact me about suspicious activity. It is just one of many reasons why we have had bank accounts with them since 1994.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

That’s such a comfort! I’ve had the same experience with Ti with certain credit card companies becoming suspicious over legitimate charges, but in general I’d prefer they be looking out for me too much than not at all.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂
Thanks, Shaina! I hope you are doing okay getting ready for your big move!
Oh my goodness! Thank goodness your bank is good! What a way to go into the weekend.
I see you’re reading Nevernight! I can’t wait to hear what you think. I loved it.
I’m hoping for so much fabulous sleep. My 5 yo fell out of my bed this morning at 4 am – onto the wood floor. I need a nap.
Yikes! I hope your 5yo is okay and that you had a wonderful and restful night sleep last night!
I had that experience with Chase but they got a little overzealous once while we were on vacation and stopped all transactions which really messed us up. I now have to tell them when we are about to do a lot of buying like… for school shopping.
I had trouble accessing the blog today. I kept getting a page not found but because I am a pushy broad I kept at it and eventually got through.
I have had that happen. Thankfully, for me anyway, it is a quick response to a text and all is right again. I’d rather have them be overly cautious versus let things go because it would be inconvenient.
I know. You can get to it if you hit reload or the back button. I am still waiting for my developer to respond to my plea for help.
