We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- CALM BEFORE THE STORM – The variety shows ended, and the kids are out of school. This meant we had one week of relative calm before we hit five days of dress rehearsals before the ballet shows. It was a nice break before Hell Week #2.
- SUMMER VACATION – We have no actual vacation planned, but the fact that our schedule is not as bad as it is during the school year is enough to have me celebrating.
- I GOT A HAMMOCK – I have been wanting one forever. However, Jim and I could never agree where to put one. Do we put one between some trees? Do we put down posts and string it up between them? If we use a stand, what kind should we get? Finally, I decided that I was going to make the decision for both of us. I received it last week, and Connor put it together for me this week. Holly has already discovered how nice it is to use, so I will be kicking her out of it this weekend and enjoying my new purchase.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

A HAMMOCK! Congratulations! The only, only thing about hammocks is they are not great for reading in. Or perhaps you have found a way around this problem? Cause if you’re lying on your back, your arms get tired from holding the book, and if you’re lying on your stomach in a hammock it’s just uncomfortable. But they are in all other respects an amazing and glorious invention.
I was reading on my phone when I used it for a few minutes on Friday. I will have to experiment though.
Enjoy your hammock! I would love something like that to enjoy, but we just don’t have the yard for it and are close to our neighbours. So, just a dream instead. 🙂
Hopefully, one day your dream will come true like mine did!
Oh a hammock sounds glorious! Life is fabulous now that school is over for the 5 year-old! My uncle is staying with us to keep her company for a few weeks and not having to shove a little one out the door early is fabulous indeed!
It is glorious! Or, it will be once I can use it for more than 30 minutes. I do love not having the morning rush now that school is out too. No matter what age, it never really gets easier.
Now I wish we had trees in our backyard that could be used for a hammock too. My Hell Week is coming too, with our annual book sale at the library. I’m the one responsible for counting up the money at the end of each day and trying to reconcile what is entered (you probably can relate, I’m guessing, in your job) on the register tape. I’m not looking forward to, but I’ll survive and I don’t have to work next Saturday so it’s, or will be, all good.
I ended up getting one with a stand, so no trees necessary!
Good luck with your annual book sale!
I want a hammock too. I prefer a stand. That way I can move it around. What did you end up with?
We are going to Santa Barbara tomorrow. I saw a gluten free bakery that my friend posted a pic of on FB the other day and I want to check it out and hit the pier for seafood…or Mexican. There is a Mexican joint we always hit for seafood fajitas. I seriously cannot wait.
I finished my round of prednisone and now I have a mouth guard, trying to figure out what my face it still hurting after that fall. I had xrays and nothing is broken and there is no tumor or growth. My jaw seems to be out of alignment just a smidge. Enough to cause me a great deal of annoyance and pain. Can you come over here and sock me in the jaw? I feel like that would fix it.
We ended up with a stand. It was easiest all around.
How is the mouth guard? I have to wear one every night or else I get headaches and jaw pain from clenching my jaw while I sleep. I hope it helps!
We used to have a hammock at our old house and I loved it! Enjoy!!
Have a great weekend!
I will! Just as soon as I have some free time!
So jealous of your hammock!! I have one for camping, but somehow it got taken out of the camper and never put back in (ahem). I love how relaxing they are and perfect for curling up for a book. And sometimes you just gotta make the decision yourself. LOL! Happy Friday Michelle. 🙂
Exactly!
