Hosted by Kathryn from Book Date, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. To learn more about each book, just click on the book cover!
FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
This was quite the week. I am actually surprised I managed to finish two books this week. Thankfully, Paul Krueger’s novel was short and easy. It is not the best example of writing, but the story is entertaining enough to help me through it. Meanwhile, Lisa Jewell’s latest is a heartbreaking look at raising teenage girls and the mystery they become. This one hit a little too close to home, but it was still a lovely book.

Wait does this mean you acquired 75 pounds worth of books at BEA? Is that real? How can that be?
I did. All at BEA. Since I was shipping them, I never counted how many books I snagged so the final number is yet to be determined. Still, I feel like I did not get as many as others did.
I look forward to seeing what goodies you picked up and then seeing what ones you recommend as you work your way through them!
Thanks, Kelly! I am looking forward to reading them all! 😉
The Girls in on the tippy-top of my BEA ARC pile to start next after I finish Here Comes the Sun.
So happy we finally ran into each other and were able to frighten Veronica Roth together! 😉
We will always have Veronica’s freaked out face to remind us of BEA shenanigans!
Wow, that’s a lot of new books! Please post a picture on Instagram – I want to see all the goodies you got!!
I have The Girls in the Garden, but I admit that I’m scared to read it. I had started it awhile ago, but the subject matter had me setting it aside.
I hope you enjoy your new book!
You probably won’t see much more than the boxes picture I already posted. I just do not like book mail posts or the stacks upon stacks of books posts.
You definitely need to read The Girls in the Garden. Just get beyond the prologue and you will find a great story.
75 lbs, oh my!!
I have Last Call at the Nightshade Lounge waiting for me, I can’t wait to start it. Using magical cocktails to fight monsters just sounds so awesome.
It isn’t the greatest novel. In fact, I kept making fun of the writing during the first few chapters. However, I do think it is an entertaining read. Plus, I want to try all of the cocktails and see which ones I like the most.
75 pounds?! Oh my gosh!! I just donated a bunch of my ARCs from last year’s BEA.
And – just finished The Girls…can’t wait to see what you think!
Yes. I am curious to see just how many books to which that equates.
