We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- SLEEP – That gif above? That was me this week. The weekend was a little more exhausting than I expected, and by Tuesday, I was not just falling asleep at my desk, I was falling asleep while keying in formulas in Excel. I tried to text my husband and kept falling asleep doing that. I ended up going home a few hours early and taking a two-hour nap just so I could function for the rest of the evening during a dinner party. That nap is what helped me get through the rest of the week, but I cannot tell you how excited I am to not set an alarm this weekend and be able to get more than five hours of sleep at a time.
- ALMOST FREE CALENDAR – While we still have hair appointments and a few dance rehearsals this weekend, we do not have all-day events. Plus, Holly and I get to stay home this weekend. The plan is to get all of the chores done as soon as possible so that I can be like this dog and just chill. Sometimes, you need to keep your life goals as simple as possible, right?

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Sleep is good! I got some great sleeping in over the weekend. Of course I was exhausted from everything I did during the day that I think an alien space ship could have landed on my roof and I would not have woken up!
Yay for sleep! I did not get as much as I had hoped, but I started Monday feeling refreshed, which is half the battle. The trick will be to see how long it lasts.
Oh beautiful beautiful sleep. I got to sleep TEN HOURS on Friday night, which was the most magical experience. I think I maybe could be a more awesome great and kind person if I got ten hours of sleep every day.
Oh, it’s been so long since I have gotten that much sleep in one go. A good night’s rest will cure any ailment, won’t it?
Those all-day events are killers for both time and energy even when they are a lot of fun. Glad you have a weekend to shut the alarm clock off and re-energize!
Absolutely. Thanks, Lisa!
I have been feeling sleep deprived for some reason too. Logy, I think, is the word. Today was good, though, as I got out for a walk in the nearby hills. That’s what made my Friday fabulous…and glad to hear you are getting a free weekend. Always a good thing.
Your pictures of your walk motivated me, and I intended to go for a hike this weekend. We didn’t go this past weekend, so I am hoping I can convince Jim to go next weekend. Holly doesn’t have dance rehearsal until later in the afternoon, so hopefully the weather will cooperate.
I’ve been totally exhausted this week. I’m not sure why — I feel like I’m getting enough sleep, but maybe not. So yeah, your GIFs are speaking to me again this Friday 🙂
Ugh. I hope you got some much-needed rest this weekend!
I am in love with that dog! It is supposed to be in the 60’s and sunny here tomorrow FINALLY. I cannot wait to be standing out at the lake in the sun watching the kiddo run like crazy with her soccer ball. Have a great and restful weekend!
We ended up getting into the upper 70s and enjoyed every minute of it. Sprucing up the yard, running outside, wide-open windows. It was just too pretty to stay inside and sleep.
That is me, most days – falling asleep at my desk, and taking a desperately needed nap at lunch in my car. Insomnia is killing me! Why can’t I just sleep when I need to?!
I have never considered taking a nap in my car. I usually just want to put my head down on my desk and catch a few zzz’s there. I might try the car the next time.
I hope you get the to do list done and have a wonderful relaxing and sleep filled weekend.
Thanks, Jill!
Oh man, that dog knows what’s up. I’m glad you’ll be able to get some sleep and relaxation in this weekend!
I’m going to visit some friends in NYC tonight for a birthday celebration, and other than that, I plan to chill, chill, chill. 🙂
Isn’t that dog great? I never tire of seeing just how relaxed it is in that bath.
I hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration and found plenty of time to chill!
That sounds like our weekend! I think we are going to take it easy Saturday morning and then do a giant clean-through in the afternoon because we are having company on Sunday.
I hope your weekend is very restful!
I started the whole “Clean in 30” thing and really like it. I love not having to lose an entire day to cleaning and the schedule means I hit some spots in my house more often than I was when I was cleaning once a week. Go figure!
Here’s to a much needed event free weekend! I hope you get to catch up on sleep and enjoy being home.
I enjoyed every moment of the weekend. The weather was just too pretty to not enjoy it!
