We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- LOCAL DANCE COMPETITION – April is dance competition month, and we kick it off tonight with a competition that requires no travel. Not only is the venue close to our house, but it is a relatively small competition. This means that we actually have Sunday to recover, do chores/homework, hit the grocery store, and prepare for the next week. This will be as easy as it gets for Holly and me during this month.
- SPENDING TIME WITH MY GIRLFRIENDS – It just so happens that those girlfriends are also dance moms, albeit their daughters are graduating this year (but I won’t talk about that just now). Dance competitions means spending hours with them as we critique other dances, catch up on our lives, and dance. We do a lot of seat dancing. And singing along. And clapping to the beat. Our daughters may not want to sit by us, but we have a blast.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Get your dance moms to start a regular monthly get together once their daughters are gone – I’ve been doing this with my “swim mom” friends for ten years. No way do you want to let those friendships fall by the wayside just because you’re not forced together any more.
That’s a great idea! I will have to mention it to them!
Good luck with the competition! Hopefully Holly’s team does well.
What a great set of gifs. Friday Night Lights AND Gilmore Girls? LOVE.
Thanks, Hannah!
I’m glad you have those ladies. I have “ladies” too but mine are rather flaky and tend to irritate me so sometimes I am better off alone.
Track meet tomorrow. Not close to home and last year was one of the most unorganized host teams so I sure hope they have their crap together this time. The Girl keeps blowing her knees out. I think it’s because she’s not practicing like she did last year. She has a different coach who is not there all the time so I think they go easy on themselves. Last week she blew the left leg out, this week she is complaining about the other leg. I see no swelling so we’ll see what happens. She only has two events. Long jump and 100 meter.
I only have fellow dance moms. When it comes to Connor’s teams, I have never been able to find a kindred spirit. I have no idea why that is.
Good luck at the track meet! I hope it is not as unorganized as last year and that the girl does well and finishes without injury!
I love this idea! I may join you for Fabulous Friday next week 😀
A Fabulous Friday for me this week is the beginning of Spring Break (woo hoo!!!) I’m a teacher, in case you’re wondering lol
Enjoy your dance competition! I’m new to book blogging and am loving meeting fellow book lovers. Hope we can connect 🙂

Yes, please! I love to see how everyone is celebrating Friday!!
Enjoy your Spring Break! Do you have any fabulous plans or are you going to be like most teachers I know who just take that week to decompress and gear themselves up for the craziness that is the end of the year?
Welcome and I hope you come back to visit!
Lol! A little bit of both. I plan on going hiking, horseback riding also sleeping in without apology lol
I also have a few reads I’d like to make time for 🙂
Enjoy!
It’s so great that you have those friendships – I’m sure it makes all of the hours of dance even more fun.
Hope the competition goes well! Enjoy your Sunday, too!
Thanks, Brandie! It does make the competitions so much fun!
