FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
The Lucy Valentine series is my version of a cozy mystery. Reading this book is like wearing your most comfortable pair of pajamas and cuddling with your favorite ratty blanket. The Brkic novel is practically the opposite of the Lucy Valentine novel. More more serious and involving more real life-and-death situations, there is no coziness to be had. It is a stark reminder than revolutions and civil wars still happen every day throughout the world and have lasting consequences on the citizens who live in those countries.

The First Rule of Swimming has such a striking cover. I’m going to have to look into that one!
It is an interesting novel. Sad really because it covers a war very few people in the U.S. bothered to understand or even remember today.
That is so sad you can’t do audios right now. I am really failing with them, too, and I just can’t seem to reconnect. 🙁
What I need to do is start walking after work and listen then. I could probably get a good hour in each night if I did that. I just prefer exercising to music more.
Three Martini Lunch by Suzanne Rindell. It’s very good
I will be curious to know if it is as good as The Other Typist!
Sometimes a cozy book is just what I need. I’m reading a romantic comedy right now to break up all the serious suspense I’ve been reading lately. It’s quick and light and just what I need right now!
It needs to be the right cozy book. Sometimes, it can be as simple as a lighter YA. I don’t do cozy mysteries all that often because I do find them a bit too light. Somehow, the Lucy Valentine series manages the right balance. Then again, I am always more forgiving when there is some paranormal activity within the story.
I’m so interested to hear how Glory Over Everything is! I loved The Kitchen House, but am always a little skeptical of follow-ups.
