We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- PEDICURES – The first pedicure of the year is always a catch-22. On the one hand, you want pretty toes for sandal weather. On the other hand, well, there is a reason why you hide your feet in socks all winter long. Still, it was a little slice of heaven to have someone work on my toes last night, and now I have pretty toes for whenever the weather decides to get warm again. Note – when I made this appointment, it was 60 degrees outside. When I went to the appointment, it was 35 degrees. Spring in Wisconsin sucks.
- ONE LAST FREE WEEKEND – Forget about Easter weekend. This is the last free, unplanned weekend we have from now until the Fourth of July as we get ready to enter the dreaded Exhaustion Period (coined by Holly). I am not thinking about this though and am just going to do as little as possible this weekend instead. In homage to one of my favorite heroines, I’ll worry about making it through the next three months next week.

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

I have NEVER had a pedicure but I think I might, just might, finally brave showing someone my ridiculously cracked heels. Because pretty feet in sandal season would be nice for a change – if spring ever finally, really gets here.
Do it! Do it! You won’t regret it when you look down and see your pretty toes!
I need a pedicure asap. Our weather sucks, too. Beautiful 74 degrees yesterday to cold and rainy 40’s today. And calling for snow later this week again. Just lovely!
I hope you enjoyed your last free weekend for awhile!!
Thanks, Brandie! I saw that we might have yet another cold spell with potential snow later this week. I am ready for the weather to stabilize.
Yes, first pedicures of the season! I haven’t done my nails in months and boy, can you tell. My siblings and I are meeting up to go shopping next weekend — maybe we’ll sneak in some mall pedicures at the same time.
That is exactly what I was facing. I am glad I got it out of the way now because I plan to switch to sandals or at least open-toed shoes as soon as possible! Have fun with your siblings!
I hope you get to really enjoy your weekend- and survive the craziness of the upcoming busy period.
I’ve gotten a pedicure a few times, and while it was nice I also have a weird thing about people touching my feet, so it’s such a toss up. I badly-stubbed (possibly broke?) my index toe (is that what is it? The one next to your big toe?) about a month ago and the nail is still black/gross (TMI?) so I won’t be getting one for a while. I know the pedicurists have likely seen grosser feet than mine… but I don’t want to subject them to them anyway.
I know what you mean. I usually detest anyone touching my feet, but I do pretty well in the pedicure chair. There are only a few spots which cause me problems, but I grin-and-bear it because I like the end result too much. Perhaps a good nail technician could help you with that nail. At least a coat a polish might hide it and make you feel more comfortable with it while it heals?
oh man! I need a pedicure so badly….winter toes, I agree with you. LOL Spring is fickle, isn’t it?
Happy Easter.
This spring is being surprisingly fickle compared to how relatively quiet and warm the winter was. Oh well. The wild fluctuations should end soon enough.
If we go to Easter service tonight, my son can’t go with us. I REALLY wanted to go tonight because we have nothing this weekend except a tux fitting appt.
But if we hit the service tomorrow, my son said he’d go. I still haven’t decided. We had planned to BBQ tomorrow and then do the whole ham thing on Sunday. But if we hit the service tomorrow night I am not sure we’ll BBQ. Hmm.
What did you decide?
Yay for pedicures. I still haven’t booked my first of the season but I know exactly what you mean about the catch-22 of it.
“Exhaustion Period” Good luck!
Thanks! Are you treating yourself for your birthday, perhaps?
Right now? Just the ability to read this post with no pressure to go anywhere as I have the day off, to read some other posts too before I head off to a Good Friday service.
I hope you had a wonderful and peaceful long weekend!
Pedicures are awesome and living in a ‘warm’ place like I do – well, people get them year round. And you feel the pressure to have lovely toes because everyone does. LOL LOL
Enjoy your weekend, Michelle! Really.
I do love pedicures, and I wouldn’t mind having them done all year round. I feel polished when I have one. Even when I am wearing my scrubbiest clothes and haven’t showered, I still feel finished.
I’ve never actually had a pedicure. Except for a fish pedicure in Virginia. 😀
The fish pedicures intrigue me. It would seem to me that it would tickle. A lot.
I saw Green Bay got hit with a lot of snow, and we got snow last night in Mundelein. I agree, this is not my idea of Spring!!!
It looks like we are supposed to have something similar hit this week too. I hope this is the last dip in temps until autumn!
