We should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. What better day to celebrate these little things than the best day of the week? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- FRIDAY – It has been a long week. Sometimes, it really does feel good to know that the work week is almost at an end.
- SPRING BREAK – The kids start their spring break tomorrow. While Jim and I still have to work because we are busy adulting, spring break does mean a considerable lack of evening activities. Connor will still have track practice, and Holly has one dance rehearsal. However, next week will be such a light week in the evenings, Jim and I will not know what to do with ourselves. We have no plans and hope to keep it that way because the week following spring break begins what Holly calls the Exhaustion Weeks. So, here is to a quiet and uneventful week.
- NEW WASHER AND DRYER – On Sunday, our washing machine finally called it quits. It had been acting up for a few months now to the point where when it was in a spin cycle, we had to yell to be hear each other over the racket. Sunday, all that unbalanced spinning caused it to start leaving parts of itself all over our clothes. Thank goodness we knew it was just a matter of time before this happened and were already on the lookout for a new set because we were able to order one on Sunday and received it on Thursday. I did a few loads of laundry on Thursday night, and the difference is night and day. Yay for functioning appliances!

What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

I hate paying for new appliances but at least with the new washers and dryers you can see such a difference it what the older machines could do so you feel like you really got a benefit. Enjoy your slow week!
Absolutely. This set came with the house, so it was at least 10 years old. We do at least one load of laundry a day. Plus, when my son does his laundry, he has a tendency to load up the machine beyond capacity. Given that, I’m surprised they lasted as long as they did.
Taking myself out to Italian was my highlight. I felt a little wired going out by myself but in the end i REALLY enjoyed myself!
I am so impressed! I have never been comfortable dining by myself, so I say way to go!
Wait, every week isn’t Exhaustion Week for Holly? Coulda fooled me. 😉
Happy Friday! Glad you can do laundry properly!
Well, you would think every week is Exhaustion Week, but these next three months are REALLY bad. Just you wait.
I’m biased, but quiet spring break evenings are perfect for a library visit and binge-reading 🙂
Functioning appliances are the best.
I’m excited it’s Friday and I get to be in charge of my first Anime Club meeting for our library teens at work tomorrow. It’s nerve-racking, but exciting nonetheless!
I suspect there will be plenty of reading. I did hit the library this weekend.
How did your Anime Club meeting go?
It went really well- the kids are really wonderful, and one gave me a hug after which meant a lot. I know they were sad to lose the librarian who’d been doing it for years to another library, but they were welcoming to me anyway. Thanks for asking!
Yay! I’m so glad to hear it!
You have animals in your dryer? Whoa. 😉
I like quiet and uneventful weeks. While I don’t get a “spring break” per se, I do get a four-day weekend next weekend, starting with Good Friday. We don’t get it off at work, but I decided to take it and we do get Easter Monday off this year. Enjoy your quiet and uneventful week.
I would take otters in my dryer. Otters are my favorite!
No days off for me but I’ll take the evenings off and be happy with that. Enjoy your four-day weekend!
Yay for spring break and having an easier week!! That will be so nice for you, I’m sure!
House and car maintenance are my worst enemies. I hate having to spend money on either, but I know it’s a necessary evil. Glad you are happy with your new purchases!
I am so happy it’s Friday that I think I’m leaving work early. Have a great weekend!
I love my new washing machine. You can’t imagine how nice it is to be able to do laundry without having to shut the laundry room door and still yell at each other to be able to be heard.
All of those things sound fabulous! We have break starting 3/24 and are on major count down! My daughter has a play date planned for Sunday afternoon and I’m beside myself with excitement trying to figure out how to spend 3 childfree hours. Oh how times have change – but it will be fabulous! I’m just hoping it doesn’t get too cold this weekend!
Did you enjoy your three hours without a child?
