FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
It was a slow reading week. That’s what happens when the holidays are at an end, right? I started the newest Bennett novel but realized that there were too many details from his first book which were fuzzy or completely forgotten. So, as part of this “reading whatever I want” mantra, I took the opportunity to re-read it. It is never a drudge reading something you absolutely loved the first time. Thankfully, I loved the second book in the series just as much and devoured it in two short days. If you love urban fantasy, you really need to check out the Divine Cities series.

Props to you for reading the Chernow Washington bio! I am up for the Alexander Hamilton one, but I don’t think I’ll have it in me to read the Washington one too.
Oh, I’m listening to it. I should read it; I would probably be done with it by now. Listening to it allows me to digest it in small chunks. It also means I will be listening to it forever.
I am not a reread lady but you definitely devoured those two, wow.
One was a re-read. The other was a first-time read. Both are great stories and fast reading. It helps that I just really love the characters and the setting and the genre.
I am not a fantasy gal. You know me. I like real-life dysfunction. I am almost done with Maynard’s new book Under the Influence and I must say, it has blown me away. Unless the ending is a real stinker I am thinking it will be on my best books list for 2016!
This is day #2 at work and I am holding it together but could not believe my first day back and how many deadlines I had for the end of the day and no one even said hello to me.
I like real-life dysfunction too, but there is something about fantasy that makes me happy.
No one said hi to you? How awful!
Always good when you can go back and re-read something and then love the next one just as much. I am reading and loving The Ramblers by Aidan Donnelly Rowley. The setting, characters and writing are superb.
Yep! Successful re-reads are just proof that a book is that good.
Happy reading this week! I hope you enjoy the book. I’ve been on a roll with reading, knock on wood. Hope it continues this week.
Thanks, Brandie! I hope your good book streak is long and fruitful!
