I used to do this post and got away from it for whatever reason. This makes me sad because we should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. Also, what better day on which to do this than Fridays? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- Book Blogger Appreciation Week – So, it is not for a few weeks yet, but when the lovely ladies at The Estella Society announced they were bringing back Book Blogger Appreciation Week, I *may* have squealed aloud with delight. This book blogger love fest has been sorely missed since Amy decided to put it on hold, and with all of the changes and drama within the community over the past few years, I think it is well-deserved. Sign-ups are now open, so make sure to add your name to this fabulous event!
- My New Job – This time last year, I was practically a one-woman show. My manager had only been in his job for two months, and we both had a new department head thanks to a pre-Christmas firing. I was dealing with training my manager, working with the auditors, finishing year-end close, training the new department head, and in general running a department in all but name. It wasn’t pretty and is definitely not a scenario I like to recall. Ever. This year, while I still have no manager thanks to her medical leave, I do not have to work with the auditors, there is no one to train, I do not have to do anything for year-end close, and there is no department to run. It. Is. Awesome. I have never had this little stress in January, but I find I really like it. A lot.

It’s lovely to have a minimum of work stress, isn’t it? Makes everything look brighter! My Friday was lovely because it came sooner than expected — we had last Monday off for Martin Luther King Day, and so Friday came fast and felt like a Thursday, which is always great.
Very nice. I wish I worked in a field that had more holidays off. I don’t think I get one off until Memorial Day. Blech.
I swear I miss out on all of the blogging community drama – and I’m alright with that. But I’m definitely ready to reconnect having been so absent of late.
I stopped paying attention to the drama after last year, but I am so glad BBAW is back. I know the girls are going to do a fabulous job with it!
Hooray for less work stress!
Hooray indeed!
IT is a fabulous Friday because I don’t have to feel guilty about doing/not doing anything cuz it is a SNOW day! I’m writing letters, reading, blogging, flipping through recipe books and praying we keep power.
Yay! I am so jealous of your snow day. I want a snow day. I feel like we have been completely lacking in real winter this year.
Yay for no stress work life!! I know it was so brutal for you before, and I’m really glad things are better. Makes coming into work a little easier, I’m sure!
Have a wonderful weekend, Michelle!
Thanks, Brandie! It is definitely a relief. I am slightly afraid of getting used to it though because I never know when things will change!
