Thoughts on books, family, and life in one impressive package.

Sunday Reflections Button

Happy Sunday! After unseasonably warm weather this past week, we are now experiencing the most gorgeous fall day. Brisk, sunny with the last of the autumnal colors still gracing the trees, it is the kind of day that begs for sitting and relaxing. After cooking all day yesterday, that is exactly what I am doing right now.

The whole family actually had a relatively quiet week outside of Holly’s regular dance classes. We all had eye appointments. Holly had a well-child appointment. Connor had another forensics meeting. We celebrated Jim’s birthday. Gretchen turned twelve. We read. We slept. Holly got to experience the first two episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was a nice week.

Speaking of week, on the website I posted my weekly reading summary, a review of Love is Red by Sophie Jaff as well as a review of Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld. I finished the week with Fabulous Friday and What’s For Dinner. I’m still plugging away at getting caught up with reviews and review copies but this more relaxed approach to reading and reviewing has been such a relief. There is just too much going on elsewhere.

With that, it is time for me to relax some more. Jim is working on putting together Holly’s new desk and bed. We should be finishing her new room later today. I cannot wait to see it all pulled together, and I know she is anxious to move. I hope everyone is experiencing a peaceful weekend. Have a great week, everyone!
