Happy Sunday! After unseasonably warm weather this past week, we are now experiencing the most gorgeous fall day. Brisk, sunny with the last of the autumnal colors still gracing the trees, it is the kind of day that begs for sitting and relaxing. After cooking all day yesterday, that is exactly what I am doing right now.
The whole family actually had a relatively quiet week outside of Holly’s regular dance classes. We all had eye appointments. Holly had a well-child appointment. Connor had another forensics meeting. We celebrated Jim’s birthday. Gretchen turned twelve. We read. We slept. Holly got to experience the first two episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It was a nice week.
Speaking of week, on the website I posted my weekly reading summary, a review of Love is Red by Sophie Jaff as well as a review of Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld. I finished the week with Fabulous Friday and What’s For Dinner. I’m still plugging away at getting caught up with reviews and review copies but this more relaxed approach to reading and reviewing has been such a relief. There is just too much going on elsewhere.
With that, it is time for me to relax some more. Jim is working on putting together Holly’s new desk and bed. We should be finishing her new room later today. I cannot wait to see it all pulled together, and I know she is anxious to move. I hope everyone is experiencing a peaceful weekend. Have a great week, everyone!

Speaking of bedrooms. You know how I decked the girl’s room out in a beach theme? I made the headboard look like driftwood, etc. Well, I had to take it out. Not sure if it’s just because of the head injury or what but the headboard’s cedar and the stain is a bit strong still so it was making her head worse. I had to pull it. Sadness.
Oh no! That sucks! I hope you will be able to put it back when she recovers fully. Maybe air it out a bit?
Relaxing weekends are the best. I’m glad you got to enjoy some relaxation, you deserve it! I’m sure Holly was really excited about her new room!
I haven’t watched Buffy in so long. These are the times I wish I paid for Netflix or some service were I could revisit old favorites.
I hope you have a great week!
Well, her room is still not quite finished. Jim is on another business trip and ran out of time while working on the bed. This upcoming weekend should be the big move. Finally.
I haven’t watched Buffy in ages either. When she said she was okay watching the series with me, I almost jumped for joy. Now, I’m just nervous that she won’t love it as much as I do.
Have a good one, Brandie!
Most people would still consider that a busy week but not at your household!
True. Very true.
