FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
So, what are you reading?

I remember enjoying The Passage when I read it but for some reason I have no desire to read any of the sequels…maybe one day!:) I have never heard of the other books so I looked them up and “Lock In” sounds great!
I can understand that feeling. Perhaps when the third novel in the series is finally published, you might get back into the spirit of reading it!
Lock In was really good. I do love John Scalzi though!
Prince of Darkness is on my list, and just finished Illuminae a little bit ago. Curious what you think of both!
The first was okay. I am seriously loving every minute of Illuminae.
You read some thrill rides this week. Their plots seem like nonstop, roller coasters where you can’t really breathe until that final, jerking stop at the end. I like how the Wall Street and the Donner Party books bring readers a detailed glimpse into these historical experiences.
Well, not all of them were nonstop roller coasters. One of them was actually quite the snooze fest. Literally. It was great for those nights when I could not shut off my brain.
Hmm I haven’t heard of any of these books and that’s the best of visiting blogs, you get introduced to new and different reads.
Exactly!
I have Lock In on my wishlist at the moment, and I’m very tempted to borrow it from the library as I know they have it, but am currently concentrating on my own TBR so am trying to leave the library books alone for now.
Happy reading!
I understand that completely. It’s why I don’t go to the library. The number of books I have on hand that I have not yet read could rival some small libraries anyway.
Nice books completed. I have heard a lot about The Passage.
ENJOY this week.

My It’s Monday, What Are You Reading
The Passage is fantastic. It makes me regret waiting so long to read it.
How’s The Indifferent Stars Above? I loved Boys in the Boat and thought about joining the blog tour for this one, but then decided I was taking on too much.
So far so good! It definitely has a whole Oregon Trail vibe to it in the beginning. No wonder no one could win that game! (Showing my age.)
Oh I am so glad to see you’re loving Illuminae! What a crazy book.
I am going to have to look up The Indifferent Stars Above- I’m fascinated by the Donner party but haven’t really read up on them.
I just started the Witches -hoping its as great as I want it to be!
It is such a crazy book, but I am loving every minute of it. I just want to get home so that I can finish it!
It is really good so far. I honestly don’t know much about the Donner party other than what everyone “knows.” I’m hoping that this will enlighten me more fully.
Fingers crossed on Witches. It looks so good!
The Passage! I loved that book, and I just put the second one, The Twelve, on my wishlist for a swap. It’s been far too long.
I do have a copy of The Twelve ready to go. I might wait a bit closer to the release date of the third one though before I get around to reading it.
The Muralist by B.A. Shapiro and listening to Armada. Wil Wheaton has the perfect voice.
I know he does. I think I’ve listened to three of his audiobooks in the last month.
What do you think of Illuminae so far? I see all the buzz about it, and it looks intriguing. I haven’t taken the plunge to buy it yet. Interested in seeing your thoughts on it. Happy reading!
I am LOVING it! The format is awesome. The characters are great. The whole thing is just so well-done and very creative. I cannot wait until lunchtime when I can read some more of it.
