I used to do this post and got away from it for whatever reason. This makes me sad because we should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. Also, what better day on which to do this than Fridays? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- The Weekend– It has been a LONG week. Long hours, stressful deadlines, the fact that my manager’s medical leave is now extended into December – it felt like one crushing blow after another. Today is one of those days where I am truly thankful it is Friday and the beginning of the weekend. I have no plans other than the usual, but just the break from work is enough for me.
- Thanksgiving– I will admit that Thanksgiving is not my favorite holiday. I don’t do flashy or highly decorated. I am not into tablescapes or elaborate decorations. I definitely do not want to dress up for the day. What I do love about this day is the chance to cook for my family. It is about serving my loved ones delicious food and enjoying their company while I still can. It is about relaxing and love. I cannot wait to start planning the menu this weekend.
What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

Awesome post! I’m sorry work has been so difficult.
Thanks! It’s all good.
YES! Friends and One Tree Hill – awesome!
I aim to please!
Well, what makes this a Fabulous Friday for me is so much that I had to write my own post about it. 🙂 But in short, I have a week off from work, my wife and I are celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary, and we’re going to see the last Hunger Games movie. Oh, yeah, reading too, wings and booze. That’s the short version ;).
I hear you about it being the end of week…today our director threw a few things at me at the last moment. I got them done, but still wasn’t how I wanted to end the week, in a rush. Now time to slow down…
Yes, you definitely win for best Fabulous Friday! I hope the rest of the week is just as amazing for you!
Eating pants! I want eating pants!
We’re driving to Iowa to see my sister for Thanksgiving so I’m very excited. The 5 hours drive – not so excited. But I did get Lemony Snickett on audio and hopefully the kid will like that – and us too. I love Thanksgiving just for being with family. Happy menu planning!
I will be turning my yoga pants into eating pants. It works, right?
I dislike driving on holidays, so I can understand why you might not be excited about the drive. Enjoy the time with your family both in the car and over the weekend!
This week was okay. My boss was on vacation but things were smooth and I got stuff done. I am off next week and the Monday after Thanksgiving so I am looking forward to what I believe may be our 4th year of Thanksgiving in Jammies. I have nothing purchased though and normally I am way ahead of the game by this time but no… I’ve had time but I’ve not wanted to hit the store so, there you have it.
Yesterday The Teen auditioned for Seymour (Little Shop). At lunch he will check the callback list and then audition for whatever he is called back for, tonight. We talked about the roles so you know what’s at stake. It’s all good though.
Right now, I am tying up loose stuff at work but I really, really need a personal assistant to get the numerous things I have on my list that require trips to four different stores.
Thanksgiving in jammies. Oh, I like that idea! I haven’t purchased a single thing either. Jim is off this week, so I need to make a list and send him. Better him than me at this point in time.
Congrats again to The Teen! That is so exciting. The fact that he gets to play opposite his girlfriend is just icing on the cake.
Have a great week off. I know you more than deserve the break. Enjoy it and get in as much relaxing as you can!
I already love you, but when you put FRIENDS gifs in your posts, I love you even more. The FRIENDS Thanksgiving episodes are the best.
I’m sorry your week has been stressful. I hope you get some much deserved relaxing done this weekend!
I don’t decorate or do anything elaborate for Thanksgiving, either. I have my fall decorations up, but that’s it. But, I too am really excited for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s my year to make it and have my parents over. I love just getting to stay home and not having to leave the house, and enjoying that time with my little family. And the FOOD. So yummy, I can’t wait! Is it just your hubby and kids, or do you invite other family members?
The “Friends” Thanksgiving episodes remain some of my favorite of all time. How can I not add them?!?
It is just going to be the four of us this year. I invited my parents, but they already made plans. My brother and his family are going to his in-laws. Jim’s family is too far away. I don’t mind. It has been over three years since we’ve done the holiday thing with just the four of us. It is my preferred way of spending all holidays, so I am really looking forward to it.
