I used to do this post and got away from it for whatever reason. This makes me sad because we should always find ways to celebrate the little things in life. Also, what better day on which to do this than Fridays? So, here are the things that make this a Fabulous Friday for me this week.
- Handsome handy husbands (and their brothers) – This week, Jim and his brother became my personal heroes, taking vacation days to work long hours every day installing the hardwood floors in the house. The finished product is a-MAZE-ing. There will be pictures next week, but they did such an excellent job. I want to take off of work today just to be able to clean, put everything back together, finally get around to decorating for the season, and enjoy my house again.
- The weekend – Sometimes, you have to give a shout-out to the weekend. It has been a LONG week, what with the renovation work at the house, hosting my brother-in-law, working, and still having to deal with the regular after-school activities. Last weekend, we were gearing up for the work, so I did not do much cleaning or laundry. I am so happy that the weekend is upon us to tackle everything I had put on hold while the house was torn apart. Yes, I am happy to have the time to clean. For someone with OCD issues, this will be the highlight of the week.
What makes this a Fabulous Friday for you?

SO impressed that y’all are undertaking a reflooring project. It looks so challenging! But from the work-in-progress picture, it also looks like the finished product is going to be amazing. Way to go!
Thanks, Jenny!
It was a Fabulous Friday for me just because it was Friday and was the end of the work week. It’s not that it was that stressful, but I was just glad it was over so I could have time to relax and not think about it. Plus wings, of course.
We’re getting a new kitchen floor from our landlord soon so understand the excitement about new flooring. He and my wife will be stripping out the old tiles and they’ll have a company install the new flooring, which our landlord and my wife will pick out. Can’t wait, since it is no fun walking on tiles that are coming up.
Sometimes, just the mere fact it is the end of the work week is enough cause for celebration. Goodness knows I have felt that way often enough.
Are you going to share pictures of your new floor?
Probably we will, but I just don’t know when exactly they’re doing it. When they do, though, I’ll let you know.
I would be the same way! Cleaning and putting things back together sounds like a great weekend to me. 🙂 From the pictures you’ve posted on Instagram – the floors do look amazing!! Your living room is stunning. I’m glad it’s all coming together! Enjoy your weekend and getting everything back in order.
Thanks, Brandie!
Sweet on the floors, they are definitely the best for taking vacation for hard physical work 🙂
I tease my sweetie about having OCD but I say its part of why I love him because it is so easy to have a clean tidy house with him. Most of us love that trait.
Happy Friday
Oh, I wouldn’t say my family loves the fact I have OCD. My compulsions are a bit ridiculous at times, and I can lose it pretty quickly if anything disrupts one of my routines. It is beyond keeping things clean.
Yay for new floors! That sounds really exciting. And really adult, sheesh.
I am so excited for nice weather! We’re going to soccer at the lakefront and to find my daughter’s preschool teacher running by in the marathon. Enjoy getting things done at home!
Oh, we are very much adults. We crossed over that threshold when our oldest hit high school. All of a sudden, the talk becomes college and retirement planning. Sigh.
Your floors are gorgeous. I completely understand about wanting to clean and put everything back. It’ll be like living in the same but brand new house. Enjoy!!!
Exactly! It has been so relaxing now that at least one room is finished. Only a few more weeks to go before I can cross off my office and Holly’s room.
