Happy Sunday! It is a gorgeous fall day out there right now – not too hot, not too cold. The moon is full. There is going to be a supermoon eclipse tonight. All is right with the world.
Connor had a big week. It was homecoming week, so he had a parade on Friday along with the football game. Saturday was one of the biggest cross-country meets of the season, and Saturday night was the dance. He went with his girlfriend and two other couples. They were all adorable to behold. I have not had a chance to talk to him yet, but it sounds like they had a blast. Today, he is at his first marching band competition of the season and will not be back until later tonight. The next four weeks will be equally hectic and filled for him. When he is supposed to find the time to do his homework and his chores still remains to be seen, but I am sure he will figure it out!
Holly attended Outdoor Ed on Monday through Tuesday. She came back in time to head to dance class. Given the late night on Monday and the lack of sleep, she spent the entire week trying to recover. This is her last free weekend before competition team practice starts, so I suspect she will be doing nothing but napping and homework this afternoon.
We are all struggling to kick this cold that Connor brought into the house a few weeks ago. Jim is on his second round of it, and Holly never really got rid of it. I am hoping to avoid a relapse so lots of hand-washing for me. Our house is so torn apart right now as we work to prep for installing wood floors, so it is making it difficult to clean. I know that is not helping matters. This week will not be any busier than usual – no cross-country meets or football games – so I am hoping the relative calm will allow for early bedtimes and lots of rest. We shall see.
I am getting better about posting! My writing mojo is not completely back yet, but I am getting there. This week I shared my weekly features, the weekly reading summary, Fabulous Friday, and What’s for Dinner. I also managed to post three short reviews. Yay me! Check out my very brief thoughts on The Creeping by Alexandra Sirowy, Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, and Alive by Scott Sigler.
I had to go to work this morning, so I plan to do nothing this afternoon but relax and enjoy the weather. I should hit the grocery story, but I have enough to get the family through the next few days. We were on the run all day yesterday, and I need the downtime like everyone else does. I hope everyone is having similar glorious weather and is enjoying their Sunday. Have a great day and even better week!

Hope you all can get well soon!
Thanks, Lisa!
Seriously, how does Connor find time to do homework? Busy busy! I hope he had fun this weekend. And I hope everyone is on the mend and that you had a nice relaxing day yesterday. I seriously dread grocery shopping. I put it off forever on Saturday – it is the worst.
I hope you have a great week!
I am really not certain how he finds the time, and I am not certain I want to know. I know he has gotten better about doing homework on bus rides to and from events.
I still need to go grocery shopping. Blech. Worst chore of the week.
Have a good one!
I hope you guys feel better, soon! I am sure Connor looked awesome.
Thanks, Becca!
Hey…maybe you can read too. 🙂 No pressure, though.
Of course, I need to practice what I preach. I haven’t been reading hardly at all. Maybe this afternoon or tonight or…tomorrow.
I usually don’t read on Sundays. There is just too much to do with getting things ready for the week. I will read before bed like always and that’s about it.
Sounds like you’ve had a busy week I am so great full for fall temps coupled with sunny days. So nice to get out and walk and listen to audiobooks on the walk. Crockpot easy corn chowder is in the works.
Have a great week.
I always have a busy week. This was par for the course. I am not certain if I would prefer to have it any other way. I definitely need to break out the crockpot for chowders and soups. I love a good soup when the weather cools off.
