Hosted by Sheila from Book Journey, this is a weekly event to share what we’ve read in the past week and what we hope to read, plus whatever else comes to mind. To learn more about each book, just click on the book cover!
FINISHED SINCE THE LAST UPDATE:
It’s slow-going these days as fall sports officially started even though summer activities are still ongoing. This make look impressive, but these were all relatively short books without much substance. Sometimes, that’s all the brain can handle.
CURRENT READ:
I don’t normally read two books at the same time anymore. It just happened that my iPad was dead so I picked up the Watson book because it was close at hand and in print. Sheer laziness.
Still not making any predictions or reading plans. It’s better this way.
So, what are you reading?

Let the mayhem begin, eh? 😉 No shame in reading some fluffier stuff when things get busy! I’ve heard real good things about Shadow and Bone.
The mayhem has definitely begun. I don’t know if I’m going to make it.
I started Villa America. It’s good. I also started The Captive Condition for a tour. It’s good in places but then not so good in places so it will be interesting to see how I like it once done. It hasn’t gotten great reviews, unfortunately. After Captive, I am allllll caught up with my ARCs!! Lord Mercy There’s a Fire!!
I have Villa America. It’s in print so I have NO idea when I will get to it. I’m trying to go through all of my e-galleys. I still have way too many – 18 through October. I may get caught up one day. I was once upon a time after all…
Four books is awesome with your crazy schedule! I ended up really enjoying Shadow and Bone. Plan to continue the series at some point. I would love to know what you think of the Caletti book. I have that one, but of course haven’t made time to read it. Enjoy your books this week!
I was actually disappointed with the Caletti book. It was a bit obscure for her and was missing her usual intensity. It was good, don’t get me wrong. It just wasn’t of the same caliber as Stay or He’s Gone.
I am totally creeped out by that cover for The Creeping. I hope the SJ Watson is as good as her first! I’m working at home with the kid waiting for school to start – I don’t read nearly enough when I’m not commuting!
It is a creepy cover, isn’t it? Unfortunately, the cover is better than the story itself. So far Watson’s second novel is quite good. Where it is going to go from here is anyone’s guess though.
Lord yes. I almost hate to say what I’m going to read next, because even I doubt it’s what I’ll read next. I really don’t know what I’m going to read until I actually pick it up and am about 50 pages into it.
I wonder if Second Life will be as good as Before I Go to Sleep. I hope it is!
I’ve been pretty lucky that since I started playing Book Roulette, I’ve selected books I’ve enjoyed. I’m still squeezing in the review copy or two as I reach archive dates, but for the most part, it is a great feeling to read my own books after all this time.
So far, so good! I hope to make some major progress in it later this evening.
