Good morning, my darlings! How is everyone this fine Sunday? We have another unexpected free Sunday today. We were going to spend the day with my brother and his family at a local water park. Sounds great, right? Mother Nature had another temper tantrum this week and has decided to give us highs in the low 60s. So much for the water park. Instead, we are going to enjoy the free day and relax.
Last weekend was supposed to be our only free weekend for the entire summer, which is why I wasn’t around last weekend. We didn’t do much other than relax. It was heavenly. Sleep, doing chores, getting caught up on some things around the house and all without having to rush to get it done. It wasn’t exciting but it was exactly what we needed.
This week saw us getting right back into the swing of things with dance, dance and more dance. Yesterday saw Holly at an Irish dance workshop. Her studio has a new teacher who has actually won Irish dance competitions in Ireland, and they were trying to discern interest in fall classes. She had a blast. Even better, they had a workshop for adults. I didn’t know about it until I got there with Holly so was completely unprepared – jeans, hair, make-up, a nice blouse. I still went for it though and ended up taking the hour-long class. It was an absolute blast. Rumor has it they are going to offer an adult class this fall. If we can fit it into the schedule, I am definitely giving it some consideration.
This week starts the build-up to fall and the school season. Connor gets to attend a week-long drill camp for marching band – eight hours every day for the week. Sounds like fun, right? I’m trying not to look at the calendar that much farther into the future because it really scares me.

That’s about it from the Shannon camp this week. I hope everyone is staying warm, if you are experiencing this crazy cool weather like we are, or are enjoying your summer weather if you are having it. Have a great Sunday. Happy reading!

You did need some down time before the school year kicks off!
I know, right? Unfortunately, I think this was the last of it.
I love down weekends! I’m a homebody, anyway, and I like nothing more than a day spent reading and relaxing. 🙂
I am a homebody too and start getting crabby when I don’t have enough alone time or time spent in my lounge pants on my couch. Unfortunately, yesterday was an impromptu shopping day so again no relaxing. Ugh!
Who needs exciting all the time? Catching up sounds great to me. I wish we had more time to do that too.
It’s been a bit cooler here too, so not too bad of a summer at all…well, not right now anyway.
Apparently, I need exciting all the time! I can’t even manage to relax on a totally free day!
I am loving the weather this summer. One week of extremely hot temperatures is about all I want anyway. These days in the 60s and 70s are my ideal weather conditions.
