Good morning, my darlings! We are enjoying a lazy Sunday today. Jim is back home again, and this time, he’s staying home for at least one whole week. We are all enjoying a wonderful sense of contentment at having everyone under one roof for longer than two days.
It was a quiet week in the house again. Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing exciting. I think we have definitely all hunkered down for the winter.
Did you see the news? There will be a mini-Bloggiesta on February 2nd and 3rd. Check out the website for all the details!
Another big update this week – Armchair BEA is coming back for 2013. I made the decision this year to step aside as one of the team members. I had to downsize somewhere, and it was time. As a founding member, I am supremely proud of its success and will continue to celebrate its ongoing popularity from the sidelines.
It was my blogging birthday on Friday. It is so hard to believe I’ve been doing this for four years already. Time really does fly when you are having fun!
I’ve been a reading fool again this week. Better yet, I have only two more pre-2013 review copies remaining unread. This time last year, I think I was well over fifty old review copies. I cannot wait to finish these last two and finally get to my own books. Don’t get me wrong. I have read some amazing books in the past year, but I have so many exciting books yet to read.
Reviewed this week:
- The Art Forger by B. A. Shapiro
- Stolen Nights by Rebecca Maizel
- Truth In Advertising by John Kenney

Aw, thanks Tif! I miss you too, but I just couldn't do it again. I knew I wasn't feeling some of the decisions or the directions the group wanted to go in, and it wasn't fair to them or to the event to be the lone dissenter. Besides, I'll be spending all that week running back and forth from recital practices and track meets, if the preliminary schedule is any indication. You'll be great, and I'll be around participating instead of leading!
LOL! Review books are the catch-22 of the blogging world, aren't they? I love receiving them, love reading them but it is so easy to get inundated and completely overwhelmed by them. It is a great feeling to come out from under the pile. You'll get there one day!
Thanks, Jennifer! You will have a blast with Armchair BEA. It is always such a fun event.
Thanks, Carrie! I've been accepting a few but not nearly as many. Better yet, I've done a good job of staying on top of them, so that I am reading them before the release date and reviewing them shortly thereafter. It has helped me tremendously to do so because I don't feel such pressure all the time. And they are books I really want to read anyway, so it's a win-win all around!
Thanks, Juju! Four years just flew, didn't they?
You haven't accepted any review copies for this year? I have but I'm doing a better job of staying on track with them, reading them before the release dates and reviewing them shortly thereafter. I definitely don't want to go back to where I was.
Thanks, Steph!
Thanks, Deb! Yes, I am so excited about those old review copies. It feels like a tremendous weight is being lifted from my shoulders to have finally read almost all of them!
Thanks, Natasha! Have a great one!
Thanks, Bryan! I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you as well. Meeting other people has been the best thing about blogging – hands down!
I am so excited for you to have some good family time this week!!! And, congrats on your blogiversary!!!
I am going to miss your during Armchair BEA. In fact, I already do! Know that I will be thinking of you the entire time!!!!
First of all, Happy Birthday, That's What She Read! Four years…woot!
Looking forward to Bloggiesta. I hope I'll have time to do a few things. I saw that you were gone off the organizer panel for Armchair. We'll miss you, but I do understand your decision. 🙂
Congrats on catching up your review books. I'm SO looking forward to that day for myself.
Have a great week, Michelle!
Mini-bloggiesta! Sweet 🙂 I'll absolutely be checking that out.
I wasn't around for Armchair BEA last year and I'm looking forward to it this time around. I don't know what to expect!
I hope you had a lovely Sunday with your family Michelle 🙂
Congrats on your blogging anniversary – and in whittling away at your to-review pile! I'm right behind you – almost caught up – and am not going to accept any more for a while. I want to read my own books that are calling to me!
Happy lazy Sunday (my personal fav) and bloggy birthday! This summer is 4 years for me too. 🙂
Happy bloggiversary!
I'm definitely in need of a Bloggiesta. I'm behind on, well, everything, so I'll have to check that out.
I'm sad to say that I have a ton of review copies left over from last year, but happy to say that, so far, I haven't accepted any yet this year, so here's hoping that will help me make a dent in the mess I let myself get into.
Happy Sunday!
Glad Jim is home for a while and you're enjoying being in hibernation mode. 🙂 Congratulations on four years of blogging!
You should feel very happy this week….It's a big one for you and your blog. Four years! Excellent. And only two books left…good going!
Happy blogiversary! Thanks for letting us know about Bloggiesta. I'll be sure to check it out. Have a good week.
Congratulations again on the four years. It's been good getting to know you, your reading and your family through this here blog. Glad Jim is home for a bit… Maybe you'll get to see the Super Bowl together.
