Did Not Finish
I really did love the Thursday Next series, or at least up to this sixth book. I thought the series ended perfectly with the fifth book and was satisfied with how Thursday’s story concluded. I did try listening to this sixth book in the series; I made it through the first two hours of it before I decided to call it a day. I just could not get into the story, and even though it might be a perfectly hilarious and amazing story, it felt to me like Fforde was capitalizing on a popular heroine and trying to reignite a series for monetary gain. I have plenty of other audiobooks waiting for me.

I can see the Thursday Next series not being for everyone. Sometimes the effort to understand the complex world Fforde created just isn't worth the effort. I think that's where I am right now with the series!
I really did love the first five. Perhaps it would have been better had I read this one instead of listening to it.
I really need to get to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Everyone loves it so much!
It was interesting. Great premise but the execution was a bit rough.
Year Zero is fantastic!! I hope you have gotten to it and enjoyed it as much as I have!

I loved the first five books in the series. I just felt like it was one of those series that could have/should have ended there. In a way, it is almost like its own series.
That's too bad you didn't like the Fforde more. I am hoping to get to it at some point, but I can understand your sentiment.
The Round House is amazing- I hope you like it! I have never been able to get into the Thursday Next books, no matter how hard I try. My husband bought me the first one, because I love Jane Eyre, but it was just not for me. Oh well!
Haven't started the Thursday next series yet. Will keep your thoughts in mind if and when I start it.
I have only recently finished listening to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and having loved that was considering listening to Year Zero also. I look forward to your review.

I'm currently reading Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix for the first time. I'm only just now reading the awesome Potter series. I've been missing out big time!!!
