Did Not Finish
I tried to listen to this one. I really did. I got about 90 minutes into it before I had to turn it off and listen to something else. It was the mouth sounds that got to me. I was listening to it while driving, and it sounded like the narrator was gumming her food. The thought of listening to the rest of the book via ear buds makes me shudder with dread. I just cannot stand mouth sounds of any sort. This is a review copy too, so I will be sending a note to the publisher about my issues with the production. The sad part was that she wasn’t a horrible narrator. Her accent was decent, and her voice was pleasant. You just cannot get around bad editing or post-production.

This is something I am only beginning to get better about quitting bad books. I still struggle doing so with print books but have no hesitation about doing it with audios. I still haven't figured out why that is.

Crummy audios are absolutely horrible to experience. You can slog through a boring print book but a bad narrator is just something no one should have to experience.
Hmmm…my favorite of the seven was probably Forgotten. I really enjoy Catherine McKenzie. I hope you get a chance to read one of her novels, if you haven't already!

Don't you just hate not being able to get into a book – I sometimes feel as if I failed for picking it out but gotta admit – LIFE IS TOO SHORT to read a bad book!!!! 🙂

I haven't come across any audiobooks with the "mouth sounds" issue, and I would be so annoyed! Looks like you still had a pretty good reading week, and hope you have another one.

A Small Town Near Auschwitz sounds like a great/disturbing read. I'll have to look for that one.
