Good morning from the wonderful state of Wisconsin. We are experiencing yet another absolutely glorious day. The weather has been absolutely beautiful – sunny, warm but not hot, blue skies, simply picturesque leaves. Stunning. The kind of weather that just puts a smile on your face all day long and makes you grateful to be able to experience it.
With this wonderful weather, Jim and I started to feel the urge to drop everything and take a motorcycle ride. Unfortunately, we sold our motorcycle this past winter. So, how do we assuage that need to feel the breeze on our faces? Why, head to the local Harley-Davidson store of course! We are eyeballing our next bike and are crunching some numbers to see if it will fit into our budget. It may seem counterintuitive to get a motorcycle before winter sets in, but that’s just how we roll. Besides, knowing Jim, he’ll have a laundry list of customizations he’ll want to do before the riding season starts again. So we shall see what happens with our number-crunching and negotiations with the dealership.
Remember my picture of deer in our backyard? Well, the deer now have playmates in the form of woodchucks and our very own fox. We also have our share of hummingbirds, blue jays, warblers, chickadees, finches, and so many other birds, chipmunks, squirrels, and rabbits. Who knew that we would be moving among our very own menagerie? The dogs have been having a blast running and chasing everything away. I have to admit that I still get a thrill peeking out the window every morning and seeing what wildlife has decided to stop by for a visit. The fox is really cool.

I also put my name in the hat for participating in this year’s Dueling Monsters. Between Pennywise, Patrick Bateman, and Hannibal Lecter, I am becoming quite the psychopath connoisseur, and I am surprised at how much I like it. I am beginning to frighten myself.
I will not comment on Monday night’s football game against the Seahawks. It still makes me angry. Let’s hope they can put it all behind them and kick some Saints tail today. With that, time to go enjoy this gorgeous day while I can. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. Happy reading!

But of course! We've had motorcycles since before we were married. Now that the kids are older and Connor can babysit his sister, it was definitely time to get another one and take advantage of the roads and the scenery around us. Now, we just need to wait for spring.
LOL! Always a great weekend when the Packers win!
Oh, an otter! I want one too! They are just the cutest animal ever.
Amen, Jill. Even a month later, I can still not speak of that game without an increase in blood pressure.
Sounds like you have quite the wildlife refuge there. And I didn't know you were motorcycle people!

I am still bitter over last week's game. I will always be bitter.

Your whole post reminds me of the awesomeness that is Wisconsin 😉 We saw a bear and a porcupine and a coyote this weekend! AND the Packers won, yahoo. Not a bad weekend at all 🙂

I am uber jealous that you have a fox out in your backyard! Not-so-secretly, I want a pet otter. I figure i could keep it in my bathtub. I have a really large bathtub…
So far, the wildlife is getting their fill on various berries and other plants that we didn't know they ate. I suspect the fox is enjoying their fill of the chipmunks that took over the yard this summer. We only provide food for the birds. They are always pretty to watch.
The dogs are exhausted but in a good way since it is also proving how well electric fences work at preventing them from running after the wildlife.
I'm not so certain about the real refs. They made two piss poor calls in today's Packers game that all but the fans storming the field in protest. I'm beginning to take it personally.
It was a tough game because as Badger fans, we wanted Russell Wilson to do well. I hope the problems with the NFL are over now.
The wildlife is very cool. We all love looking outside to see what we will see next!
Oh, Bryan. If I shared my true thoughts, my language would make a sailor blush. I'll leave the rest to your imagination.
I know I'm not a good person! I get in trouble enough with people to know that by now. I could also blame it on all the serial killer stuff I've been reading lately. 🙂
Based on today's game, it looks like the Packers and Rodgers will have to battle crappy calls from even the real refs as well as their opponents. Cripes.
Ah, your yard sounds glorious – I'll bet the dogs are exhausted by the end of the day. Glad to see the Packers came back today – even more happy to see the regular refs back. What a change to have an official make a quick call and know the rules.
Isn't it fun having a slew of wildlife outside your door? We knew we had some, but we finally got a new porch put on our house this year, and since we've been spending so much time outside, we finally get to see how many small creatures are around, and they're so much fun to watch. Lately, we've been setting out peanuts for the squirrel population, and they'll practically come and sit on the porch with us while they're eating them!

I am a Seahawks fan, and can tell you that most of us know that the Packers were robbed. I hope they have a great game today – they're the team I root for when they're not playing the 'Hawks.
Your property sounds gorgeous – all that wildlife visiting. My kids would love it!

So come on, tell us what you really think of the Seahawks-Packers game? I really want to know ;).
I'm sorry that you didn't like Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close as much as I did…you're just not a good person, what can I say? Again (and can't emphasize this enough) 😉
On a serious note, I really do like Aaron Rodgers, had him on fantasy teams for two years in a row and never regretted it. I wish him and the Packers the best this year. Hope they can get things turned around…
