Good morning and happy Sunday to you all! Fall is officially here and Mother Nature has decided to make sure we know it. Last night’s low temperatures were in the 30s, and yesterday’s game had us bringing out the hats, mittens, and heavy coats. It is supposed to stay chilly for the rest of the week too. I guess it means that I can bring out the Halloween/fall decorations now that the weather seems to have turned for good. I know what I’ll be doing this afternoon…
Why is it whenever you walk into a store like Sam’s Club or Costco, you end up buying things you would almost never purchase in a regular grocery store? We joined such a club yesterday and filled an entire cart. It won’t go to waste, but I just have to laugh at what we actually contemplated purchasing but were able to leave in the store. You’d think we had never seen food before with the way both Jim and I were going gaga over items. Insane. I hope that it is a one-time thing and that we are a little more selective on future trips.
Speaking of yesterday’s football game, did you see that Madison was named the best college football town in the nation by a USA Today reader poll? Hellz yeah! It seriously never gets old seeing the Badgers play, but the stadium action is even more fun. And the Jump Around thing? Oh yeah. It is an absolute blast, and the stadium really does shake because really, 82,000 people jumping to Jump Around will do that to even the most structurally sound building ever built. If you ever get a chance to head to Madison, WI to catch a college football game, it is worth checking out for yourself. You won’t regret it.
Did you see my new pretty? It is my first iPhone, and I am seriously in love. I cannot believe how FAST it is at everything. It is also so light. Even though it is smaller than an Android-based phone, I like it more because it isn’t so awkward to hold, and I don’t notice the somewhat smaller screen. Actually, I am relieved it fits better in my hand than my old phone because I dropped my old phone so many times that the back panel barely fit anymore. I never did crack the screen though…but I digress. I’ve used the new Maps function and didn’t notice any differences from Google Maps. In general, I feel there is almost seamless integration with social media sites that just did not exist on my DROID. I am more than impressed and extremely glad I made the switch!

I can see it being particularly dangerous during the holidays.
I only hit Sam's Club for very specific things or I go nuts! Especially at Christmas time!
My recent post Review: The Longest Way Home
We shouldn't talk about it. My heart rate starts increasing just thinking about the jackass refs and their ineptitude.
O.M.G. That game. I think I still have smoke coming out of my ears!
I know. I cannot believe it took me so long to make the switch but am SO glad I did. I cannot imagine using anything else now!
Absolutely! I'm watching the Pack battle it out right now.
LOL! I finally took matters into my own hands this year too. No more hints. I'm tired of being disappointed.
I didn't realize this was your first iPhone!! Aren't they awesome!!! Once you use it, you'll never go back. Apple knows what they are doing.

Yay for Madison, yay for Wisconsin! Oh and yay for Monday night football with the Packers tonight 🙂
Congrats on the new iphone. It's so pretty. I don't think I'll get the phone but the ipod touch I'm hinting at for Christmas. Well, not so much hinting as "I want that."
Good luck! I think the first few times you go there, it is a bit like a kid in a candy shop. I think it takes a few trips to get into a groove and be able to stick to a shopping list. At least, I'm hoping that's all it takes!
I thought I couldn't handle it either, was stunned when I finished it, and now am going to rave about how awesome it was. Just brilliant. Horrifying but brilliant.
That is Jim. I don't understand it either. He's like that shopping too. He is a sucker for the BOGO sales, even if they involve something we would never eat normally.
I actually did not end up getting out the decorations after all. I settled into reading and just didn't make it that much farther than the easy chair.
I need your Sam's Club secrets, otherwise I can see us spending a small fortune there.
I realize now just how bad my last smartphone was. My husband actually traded his in for a non-smartphone because he wasn't happy with his either. After one year of our DROIDs, I find it interesting that we were both done.
There is definitely something strangely addicting about those club stores. I need to come up with a strategy for going there.
Our weather has turned cool as well… I am not ready. You scared me a bit with your Cosco story… we are just getting one that opens in October… will I be going crazy shopping there? LOL

My recent post Hopefully, this is the last time (and way) I’ll ask you to re-subscribe
My husband and I think differently when it comes to stores like Sam's Club, B.J's and Costco. He loves going there, and although I do like buying certain things there, I find that when we go, we spend WAY too much$$$, by buying things we normally would not buy. Like why does he need (2) pack of new tee shirts, 12 pairs of underwear and 2 dozen pairs of socks?? LOL
I brought out the fall decorations yesterday but couldn't quite make myself go all the way to doing Halloween decorations. Those will have to wait a couple of more weeks. We walked out of Sam's the other day with a less than $100 tab and it might have been the first time ever. It does take some time to figure out what things are actually worth buying in bulk and I can't tell you how many times we've tried something new only to be horrified that we have to eat 5 more lbs (or whatever it gets measured in) of something we hate!
Oooh, so jealous. The new iPhone…but then again, I finally just got an Android phone a few months ago, plus I don't need all the bells and whistles with my job. Wi-fi is good enough.
Sam's Club, Costco and for us, Wal-Mart: we never get out of that place for less than $100 or very rarely. Don't know why.
