It is the most wonderful time of the year. No, I’m not talking about the availability of pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, although that is a close second. I am talking about Carl’s R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril challenge!!!
Starting September 1st through October 31st, the rules are there are no rules other than to enjoy books or movies from one of the following genres:
- Mystery
- Suspense
- Thriller
- Dark Fantasy
- Gothic
- Horror
- Supernatural
Carl always has offered different levels. As in years past, I’m going for the top level:
This means four novels of any of the above-mentioned genres. You know I never do lists, so I have no idea what I am going to read. I cannot wait to get started!
This year, I am also going to participate a new category.
This one is just as it sounds, watching a scary movie. Jim has been trying to get me to watch THE LOST BOYS forever. Yes, as much as I love vampires, I am not all that fond of vampire movies. Now is a perfect time to kill to birds with one stone, right?
So, what should I absolutely read this year?

Thanks, Carl, and as always, thanks for hosting!! Yes, I am definitely up to remedy my severe lack of all things The Lost Boys.
That's exactly how I am! I refuse to make lists because I never know what I will want to read when the time comes.
Thanks for following!
Someone had the great idea of watching a scary TV show. I love that idea!!
Lost Boys is on tv every so often, so I have seen it a couple times. I joined up for Peril on the Screen, but I have no idea what I plan to watch…
You will not be disappointed with this challenge. It is simply fantastic!
I am so ashamed that I have not watched THE LOST BOYS. The weather needs to be a bit cooler before I watch it though. I need to get into the spirit of the season!
My drink of choice normally is a vanilla latte, but I cannot wait for that first pumpkin spice latte.
RIP is my favorite challenge also! Good luck!
I know, I know. Jim makes fun of me ALL the time for this. We've had it on our Netflix queue forever.
I know that I will definitely be listening to THE HISTORIAN and reviewing THE LAST WEREWOLF. I don't know what else I'll be reading. You know me!
The Lost Boys is classic '80s and vampire awesomeness all rolled into one! You've got to see it – if not for the fact that the "Coreys" were somewhat normal back then. 🙂 I'm excited to be joining the challenge this year as well – my first year joining!
My recent post R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril VI
I rarely ever stray from my delicious caramel macchiato but I do love pumpkin spice lattes! Good luck with RIP . . . it is my favorite challenge of the year!
