I confess I lost my running mojo last week. Now that the intervals are essentially gone, I find it more difficult to get excited about going for a run. I am hoping that this is only a temporary mindset because it seems to fly in the face of what I should feel. I should be proud that I can run 2.5 miles without stopping and that should entice me to keep going. I am going to force myself to keep going and see if I can turn this negative attitude around to something more motivating.
I did find it interesting that I am severely impacted by weather and temperature when it comes to pain and ability to run. For example, I ran on New Year’s Eve in freak 60-degree weather and felt great. It was the fastest and farthest I’ve run in a while, and I felt wonderful after I finished with no leg pain at all. Sunday’s run was in temperatures that were 30 degrees colder, and I could barely run. My speed was off, and I did not run as far. The leg pain was pretty horrific as well. So, the weather needs to warm up, so that I can get to be a better runner!
I officially signed up for Weight Watchers online on Monday. It’s going to be a long journey, but I am excited to start losing weight.
Sunday – Week 7 C25K
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – Week 8 C25K
Wednesday – Rest
Thursday – Week 8 C25K

1 pound is great! And it means you will keep it off! Every pound counts, so I would definitely celebrate!
I haven't signed up for a 5K yet, but we signed up for a Warrior Dash – a 2.91 run with extremely difficult obstacles like running tires, rappelling down a cliff, jumping over fire and others. I'm going to need all those extra miles to help get me in shape for that!
I will gladly help motivate you! What do you think of WW so far? I find it fairly easy and gentle. There is something so rewarding about totaling your points and seeing you can eat something else or indulge in something small. Running outside in the Midwest sucks, but as long as it isn't in the low 20s, I like it. This weekend was too cold, so I'm itching to go running tomorrow before it snows. Good luck!
Thanks, Amy! I'd like to build up to at least six miles or more, but I am definitely celebrating the small steps while waiting for the weather to get warmer. One of these days…
I actually love running after work. I use the stress and anger from work as fuel to keep me going. Running in the dark is peaceful and helps me think I'm running faster than I actually am. It isn't easy though, and the cold weather is definitely not conducive to running. Still, every little bit helps. Good luck!
I signed up with WW on the 1st. I lost a pound the first week 🙂 Some would think that is too little, but I'd be happy if I lost a pound a week!
When our group diet didn't work out, I joined Weight Watchers and started running too. It is difficult to run in the Midwest-especially in the winter. On Tuesday I thought I was going to die it was so cold!
Glad to see that you are sticking to it. Maybe you can continue to motivate me as well!

I can imagine it would be harder running in bad weather – and wow, 2.5 miles is incredible I think! Definitely something to be proud of 🙂
