Monday starts Book Blogger Appreciation Week (BBAW)!! This is my favorite time of year, and I spent a large part of the week writing posts and getting ready for the fun. If you haven’t had the pleasure, check out all the excitement!
This week officially starts football season. My beloved Badgers beat San Jose State, and I’m watching my Pack as I type this. Even better, the weather has cooled off so that it feels like football weather. Bring on the fall!
Last week I was lamenting the fact that I had problems finishing books lately, but this week saw me remedy that situation. I finished one audio book, as well as started and finished three other novels. I’ve decided to devote the next several weeks to vampires, in honor of Carl’s RIP challenge. Actually, it wasn’t intentional but it seems to be how my reading list is shaping up over the next few weeks. I’m hoping to use next week’s focus on BBAW to build up my reviews again. Stay tuned for those!
I also dove into the idea of male versus female authors as a response to the Franzen controversy. It lead to some very interesting comments. I love getting people to force me to think even more about a certain issue!
Yesterday was the ninth anniversary of the terrorist attack that changed our way of life forever. Reading people’s stories about where they were when they found out the news brought back a flood of memories at the fear and shock I felt when I first heard the news. May we never forget those that lost their life in the attacks and hopefully work towards a world where our children will never have to experience such fear.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of your Sunday. Happy reading!
