I’ve missed this for a few weeks in a row but I’m back and ready to share! If you don’t already know, A Little Bit of Me(me) was created by Danielle at There’s A Book as a way for book bloggers to get to know each other outside of books or in her words:
We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here.
Without further ado, here’s this week’s question!
What’s your favorite food and/or restaurant and why?
I love food. I love food of all kinds. My favorite foods depend on the time of year. In summer, I tend to crave Mexican food whereas in winter I tend to want Italian food. Pico de gallo, salsa, guacamole – these are summer essentials. Well, that and margaritas. Summer means staying warm and cozy, and nothing says warm and cozy like gooey, cheesy pastas. And garlic bread. And luscious red wines.
Favorite restaurants are numerous. My favorite Mexican restaurant is a local one called Acapulco. You come out smelling like grease and food, but your tummy is so happy. The salsa is fresh, the food selection is fairly large and decently authentic, and the margaritas are huge. The kids love this really enjoy eating there too, which is always a plus.
My favorite Italian restaurant right now is Maggiano’s. How I love that place! However, there are two Italian restaurants that do not hold a candle to Maggiano’s or any chain. One is called Clara’s and is located in Naperville, IL. It is the world’s smallest restaurant but the food is absolutely divine. The other is a literal hole in the wall in Fort Walton Beach, FL. I unfortunately do not remember the name of it, but I could drive to it with my eyes closed, and we moved away from there eight years ago. I wish we had something similar to either of those restaurants here in Cincinnati, but alas, we have not found one. In the meantime, I’m happy with Maggiano’s.
Now, what are your favorite food haunts? If you live in the area, is there a to-die-for Italian restaurant that I need to visit?
