Thoughts on books, family, and life in one impressive package.
The Sunday Salon Button

One of the biggest advantages to not having the kids around is the fact that it is supposed to give Jim and me a chance to rest, relax and enjoy our freedom.  Unfortunately, that is not what happened this week at all.  First off, Jim had to attend a week-long training session in Minneapolis.  So, our chance to be together was diminished by a week.  Then, this week was one of the busiest weeks I have personally had in a week.  I spent the week running around the entire city trying to fix my computer.  Added to that, one day spent cleaning a house that had not been cleaned in over two weeks, mowing the lawn, working late, running errands, and even a last-minute beach volleyball game.  I did not get any time to relax at all this week!  I’m hoping that with Jim home again, this week will involve plenty of relaxation and rest!

In an effort to start out the week with maximum relaxation, Jim and I will be spending the day on the boat with the dogs and a good friend.  It is going to be a great way to beat the heat and spend a Sunday.  On top of that, we have a long weekend ahead of us starting Thursday, since we are taking a vacation day on Friday (I’m taking an extra one on Thursday).  Even better, the release day for Eclipse is on Wednesday, and yes, I will be taking another half-day of vacation to go see it!  How’s that for relaxation!  My toughest decision will be whether My Pocket Edward should make an appearance at the movie with me on Wednesday.  I love weeks like this.

Last Friday, I announced I was hosting my first-ever giveaway by offering the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Tinkers, to one lucky reader.  I am happy to announce the winner is:
