In my professional life, I have been working on my personal brand, my picture and promise to my family, friends and co-workers that best describes who I am and how I impact my world. With all this talk of branding and the importance of presenting yourself to the world, I figured that it was time for me to brand my blog.
I know others loved the dahlia, but I never felt comfortable with it as my header because it did not say anything about who I am or the focus of my blog. Pictures say more than words, and even though I feel I express my focus in my tag line, I felt that I needed something with more visual impact.
Through the miracle of Facebook and social media, I have gotten to be good friends with Jim’s childhood friend. As it turns out, she recently started her own design company and includes web design in her portfolio. I figured her new business was another sign, and so, she was hired. Her work is what you see above. Isn’t it fabulous? There are plans in the next few weeks to work on the favicon (actually, it’s done but I don’t know how to add it) and possibly even change my gravatar. The constant theme is the dahlia that everyone loved so much. (See? I did listen to your comments!)
Oh, and if you are in the market for some web design and help with your blog, check out Hope Red Design! She does amazing work.

Thanks, Stacy!
Love the new header 🙂
Teddy – I think as blogging becomes more popular, you are going to see more and more personality-infused headers. It is the easiest way to differentiate ourselves from others.
Thanks Michelle.
Teddy – Your animals!! I saw that and loved it (even though it has taken some getting used to after seeing the old one for so long)!
Same with me Michelle. I just recently made changes my header to reflect one of my passions.
Thank you, Teddy! Expressing my personality on my blog became more and more important to me as I continued.

Thanks, Bellezza! I think if we are true to ourselves and true to the reasons we blog, then you are correct. We need to showcase what is important to us. I'm glad you like it!
Your header is wonderful! Anything that represents us is the best thing to put on the top of our blogs; I love all things personal.
Thanks, Nicole!
