It’s a new year, which means Rebecca is back from her hiatus/vacation and we have Musing Mondays again! (She also has new buttons. I really like this one and hope it wins the “contest”.)
With the New Year here already, do you have any reading resolutions or goals (challenges aside) for 2010? Perhaps a new author? Genre? Want to read more non-fiction? Write more reviews?
Is it a cop-out to say I don’t do reading resolutions or goals? I really don’t do resolutions either, but that’s for another post. Back to the question at hand, I guess the answer is no, I do not have any reading resolutions or goals outside of challenges. Just getting through half the challenges is enough to keep me busy all year long. I always try to make sure I read a good mix of books, alternating between young adult, non-fiction and fiction – both literary and lighter fare. As for writing reviews, I feel I did a decent job of doing that last year, only forgoing writing two reviews, and since I’m planning to re-read both of those books again this year, I’m not too worried about it. In 2010, I just want to read as much as possible, continue to write thorough, honest and thought-provoking reviews. If people read them, then great. If they don’t, that is okay too.
Now I’m curious. Am I the only one without reading goals or resolutions outside of challenges? Or in this year of Reading Deliberately that seems so popular right now, is this the way to go? Thoughts?
